He did try to cut the budget but he had RINO's in the House the first two years and the dems the last two.
A tyrant of a different color.

But the Republicans sure gave him a standing ovation, and they have never been the answer to socialism or the left.
I'm registered as a Republican but I'm not a Republican. If Trump ran as a Libertarian, which I think he is closer to, I would vote for him. The Republicans may not be the answer but the democrats cause the problems. Trump eliminated hundreds of regulations and got out of the way of business and our economy blossomed.

History rhymes?

In Malcolm Gladwell book "Outliers" he tells the story of rampant crime in NYC. And of particular significance- murders. And how did the new chief of police turn things around?

They started enforcing laws for spitting on the sidewalk. It is no coincidence that letting petty crime go just increases macro crime. Look to the example of Singapore? Petty crime is not tolerated. Safest streets in the civilized world.

I look forward to the public caning of shop lifters?
I have thought about this. In NYC, at one time, you would get a ticket for jay walking. In the process of stopping petty crime, they seemed to get the bigger crime and criminals more shut down. Criminals, like children, keep pushing the limits of what they can get away with, and since birds of a feather flock together, they continue to scheme and school each other about tactics and techniques.

Trump also wants to be a dictator and has no issue with declaring martial law. I am a Libertarian and Trump is as much of a Libertarian as he is a Republican. If he was the third choice would I vote for him? Yes. I have been voting for the third choice for 30 years as a vote against the machine that has been destroying our rights and freedoms for over 100 years. Trump would qualify if he was a third choice.

Sending the Guard for security is the job of the state's governor, not the president. This highlights one of my main problems with Trump - he is a big government politician along with being fiscally irresponsible.
I agree with you about the NG being in the governor's control. There are exceptions where the president can nationalize the guard. There was talk about putting the Guard on the border. I'm not sure why that didn't happen. I disagree with him being big government or fiscally irresponsible. All spending bills have to originate in the House. Without support there a president can't get his fiscal policy through.

Gary, please tell me how your 30 years of voting for a Libertarian has worked for you?
I have a clear conscience of knowing that when I stand before my God that I didn't vote for the things that he stands against. I also voted with the other people who stand against it too. It is just a shame that so few of my neighbors believe that the lesser of two evils will end evil. BTW, if you take a real honest look at want Ross Perot accomplished by getting 20% of the vote you will see that that 20% of the voters accomplished more in changing the direction of congress for four years than the Republicans have done in over 100 years. I will stand with those 20% until I die.

The president has veto power.

Therein lies the problem we are facing.

”Clowns to the left of us, jokers to the right.”

The election rules and laws in every state are controlled by Democrats and Republicans. The control what third parties have to do to get ballot access. So much for free elections. They make it very hard to get free access to the ballots. Every third party has to spend all of their limited resources just to get on the ballot let alone get their message out. They are at a disadvantage before they are ever on the ballot. I have witnessed two times in my state when a third party automatically got on the next ballot because they got enough votes in the last election just to have the rules change before the next election. The party then had to spend million and get hundreds of thousands of signatures just to get the ballot access that they already earned in the last election. I vote for third parties just to help them get ballot access and support one of the founding rights most of us were given in the constitution. Free elections and access to them.

I have no problem which ever a person chooses to vote for, but have you involved yourself with promoting why the Libertarian candidate would be better? Have you involved yourself with your local politics, and pushed for a difference. Have you yourself run for any offices under the Libertarian label? We need people like you to push for a 3rd option, but that takes time and willpower. Many can easily sit behind a computer screen, touting that everyone is wrong, but seems nobody wants to go the extra mile and show others why a 3rd candidate would be better. JMHO!

I very much liked several of the items in Perot's campaign. However him splitting the vote is exactly why we ended up with 8 years of Clinton. Republicans and libertarians will split their vote, but Democrat rarely do. At most they stay home. But since the election fraud has gotten into high gear, I don't think it matters much any more

All Trump would do as a third party candidate is to split the Republican vote and guarantee a democrat president. Trump has done to the Republicans what the communists did to the democrats. He took over the party from the inside. That is why so many Republicans (RINO's) hate him.

Trump is a winner. I got tired of writing President Trump nastygrams. What he was doing almost always worked out and I'd have to write a letter of apology. He plays three dimensional chess to everyone's checkers. I never see him coming and I believe that is true for most. He isn't right all the time, nobody is, but he keeps his promises and he tries his best, for America.

My name has been on ever local ballot for 30 years. To be very clear. I am not a member of the Libertarian party. My political point of view is of a Libertarian nature. The Libertarian worldview is just as varied as the Democrats or Republicans worldview. I personally believe that political parties are just as corrupt as PAC's and Lobbyists and that our elections should be open to everyone without an initial behind their names. If we still had the form of government our founders gave us the most important people that you would vote for would be your neighbors, and the vast majority of your government would come from the state and local levels. Your representative in DC would be a part time volunteer and they would only be in DC the few weeks out of the year that congress was in session, and the rest of the 48 weeks of the year they would be home attending to their business, job, and family. Our US Senators would be appointed by our state representatives and governors, the president would be elected by the electoral college, and any service that you need would from government would come from you state and local governments. No longer would your state be held hostage by money from the federal government, and the federal government would be funded by tariffs just like the good old days. If we had that government back I just might stand up, take my hat off, put my hand on my heart, and pledge my allegiance. But then again, I serve a jealous God first. Now that you know all of that, I hope I am not asked to leave this club too. I came here to learn and share about homesteading. JMHO too! :)

I have heard that argument for 30 years and still wait for the Republicans to stand up and defend the constitution, ban PAC's and Lobbyists, stand for justice, and bring our government back to the size and scope that our founders gave them. If they would give ma a reason to be able to stand before God and have a clear conscience to vote for them I would. So I trust God that he knows what he is doing because he is the one that controls everything and quite frankly gives us the government that we deserve. JMHO! Trump is a liar, and that is proven.

If the Republicans did their job and gave people a reason to vote for them the vote wouldn't be split. Perot ran on balanced budgets. When was the last time the Republicans did that, much less pass one?

I never learned anything from someone that agreed with me. Strong feelings are good. every once in awhile I find myself getting upset. I try to pull out of those threads before I get rude. If differing opinions start getting people booted there are a lot here that will search for a new home.

My wife keeps saying that. I tell her that accusations are not proof. She has yet to come up with anything serious in rebuttal. Sometimes she is just plain wrong. Sometimes she misinterprets, Mostly she just listens to the MSM lies. Sometimes he does lie tactically but those work out in our favour not his.

We're all doomed.
What do people want?
It's not about GOD.
It's not about politic.

He lied when he said that he didn't know about the payment to Stormy Daniels. I could go on and they aren't very hard to find either. We all have lied, but we don't all deny or become the president. Lying in the hopes that you don't get caught is not something you want in a president. Trump made a lot of money being a bully. He lied to get it done. The art of negotiation is to be the better liar, and Trump is a great negotiator.

Well said. This is just a topic for people to voice their opinion on.

I just believe people need to really make a stance, and show folks rather than just shout from the mountains if they want to see a change. I became politically active in my city, sit at council meetings religiously, and a do'er rather than a follower. We have changed the dynamics of our small town crooked politics, and forced them all out, inserting more people who think with their own brains, rather than just react for the sake of a paycheck.

I recently spoke at our council podium and had a new municipal code ratified, in order to stop the rampant theft of catalytic converters. I am also the president of a non-profit corporation and is currently taking on the largest business in the world.

What I am trying to say is we must stick to our convictions, and do the right thing for change, not just bitch and moan, hoping for a change.

Isn't the motto of the libtards in Portland "Burn it down!" ? That's actually not a bad plan for the place now. I would not object.
I wouldn't shed a tear if it happened in DC too. But if it does, I hope it is the judgement of God and not the socialist left and right.

Please show me just one president who has not been caught lying?
They all do and they have all been Democrats and Republicans at least in my lifetime. I am sure that everyone I have voted for is a liar as well, but I was never asked to point out any of theirs. I just did what I was asked to do and I made my point.

Stormy Daniels? A mosquito bite on my butt is more important than Stormy Daniels! It's none of our business who he takes to bed. Kennedy was doing Marilyn Monroe, in the White House, while married, so what! Oh yea, he was a democrat. Give me something that matters.

I think my favorite lie was...

"I DID NOT HAVE SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH THAT WOMAN!"
I don't know why anyone cared about that. I believe that was given to the press as a distraction. Just before that there was a bunch of press about the Clintons taking big bucks from the Chinese. The Chinese citizens, involved, were jumping on the first jet to China. The American citizens that knew anything wound up dead. A nice juicy sex scandal sold advertising and moved "the chair" back into the closet.

That is a great quote.

Ok, how about that Covid was under control. It wasn't. Now I gave you two. It only takes one to be a liar.

It is amazing to me the pointless bs members get distracted by, while the clock is approaching the SHTF moment. People should be going wide'ass open prepping for what is obvious.
