It would never occur to me to pick some of the colors these folks use but I always thought many of them were great!

I would take it. Make it run and drive it as is until I had funds to make it pretty again.

Had I the knowledge and the means, I would consider it a worthwhile endeavor. When it was new, I would have been too young to drive it, but (assuming it is from the 40s) old enough to admire it.

That '50 Olds (and Caddy too) was a little too much car for the 6 volt electrical system in a Vermont winter. Good looking though.
