Can it be dried out somehow after it starts to clump up?

Citric acid is hygroscopic.

Heat to 190F (for several hours) - it will give off the water it has absorbed over time.

The decomposition temperature of Citric acid is about 350F - so it won't decompose while you are drying it at 190F.

Just stay below 200F - that will give a good margin below the melting temperature (313F).

The stuff is pretty cheap, but I hate to waste anything I can use.

You can buy the lemon flavored stuff at the liquor store for a buck an ounce. there is lime and spicy as well.

How do you tell if citric acid is lemon flavored anyway? LOL

Why not just buy powered citric acid? It's sold for canning.

Exactly. I have a jar thats gone to pellets on me, thats why I made the post.
