Devon Archer — Hunter Biden’s Ukraine/China Business Partner — Has Fraud Conviction Re-Instated by Appeals Court and Faces Prison Time

Quick hitter here to tee this story up for a more in-depth examination of the implications a little later.

Devon Archer has his conviction for securities fraud re-instated by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Archer and two others were convicted by a jury on June 28, 2018, in the Southern District of New York. On November 15, 2018, the trial judge affirmed the convictions of the other two defendants, but vacated the conviction as to Archer, and granted him a new trial. The government appealed that decision.

Oral arguments on the appeal took place on November 8, 2019 — 11 months ago. The Second Circuit issued its decision yesterday, reversing the trial judge’s order for a new trial, and reinstating Archer’s conviction on all counts by the jury.

So, some might be wondering, “Who is Devon Archer?”

Devon Archer is a long-time family friend of the Heinz family in Pennsylvania — the very wealthy family into which John Kerry managed to get his gold-digging fingers when he married Theresa Heinz, the widow of former Pennsylvania Senator John Heinz, who was killed in a plane crash in 1991.

John Kerry became step-father to Christopher Heinz when he married Christopher’s mother. Devon Archer was Christopher Heinz’s roommate at Yale. Archer was also co-founder of private-equity firm Rosemont Capital with Christopher Heinz, starting their operation with money from the Rosemont Foundation, the investment arm of the Heinz family fortune. Archer served as senior adviser to John Kerry during his 2004 presidential bid.

It was so very sad to hear about Mr. Archer's suicide...

Let's not forget that Hunter was part of Rosemont Capital.

Ben
It's ok, Hunter is 'bullet-proof'.
Nothing he has ever done, or said, or emailed, will get him in any trouble.
You ever heard of the term: "a hanging judge"?
This today, refers to any judge that endangers one of Hillary's friends and commits suicide .

The is disgusting... Ronnie Abrams, the judge who over turned the conviction of Devon Archer is married to one of Mueller's team members, Greg Andres. This kind of corruption needs to be dealt with asap.

Thankfully an appeals judge reinstated the conviction.

Judge Wed to Mueller Team Member Steps Away From Trump Suits

August 2, 2017 Associated Press
By ERIC TUCKER

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge who is married to a new member of Robert Mueller’s investigative team has stepped aside from lawsuits involving President Donald Trump and his business empire, court records show.

Greg Andres, a New York lawyer and former Justice Department prosecutor who specialized in foreign bribery and fraud, has joined the team of lawyers investigating potential coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign, a spokesman for the group said Wednesday.

Andres is married to Ronnie Abrams, a federal judge in Manhattan, who presided over lawsuits that accused Trump of violating the Constitution’s emoluments clause by letting his businesses accept money from foreign governments. One of the cases was brought by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a legal nonprofit group that advocates for good government, and another was brought by New York attorney William Weinstein.

Court entries from last month show that cases have been reassigned to another judge, George Daniels. No reason was given and a call to Abrams’ chambers was referred to a spokesman for the court, who confirmed that Abrams had recused herself from the CREW matter under a section of the U.S. code that deals with judicial procedure.

The development comes as Trump’s legal team is looking into potential conflicts surrounding Mueller’s team, including the backgrounds of members and political contributions by some members to Hillary Clinton.

Court reinstates fraud conviction for Hunter Biden business partner

A federal appeals court reinstated the fraud conviction of Hunter Biden’s former business partner on Wednesday, reversing a lower court judge who had granted his request for a retrial.

Hunter Biden was not implicated in the scheme, which defrauded the Oglala Sioux Indian tribe out of the proceeds of bond sales. But the scheme was committed under the auspices of a broader business venture in which Hunter Biden was involved, and the perpetrators invoked his name to bolster their legitimacy, according to testimony and a consultant’s slide presentation presented at trial. A lawyer for Hunter Biden has said his name was invoked without his knowledge and that he cut ties with the perpetrators when he learned of their misconduct.

Greg Andres started on Tuesday, becoming the 16th lawyer on the team, said Josh Stueve, a spokesman for the special counsel.

Most recently a white-collar criminal defense lawyer with New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, Andres, 50, served at the Justice Department from 2010 to 2012. He was deputy assistant attorney general in the criminal division, where he oversaw the fraud unit and managed the program that targeted illegal foreign bribery.

Mueller, who was appointed special counsel in May, is looking into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the election, among other matters. Congressional committees are also investigating the matter.

That Mueller continues to expand his team means the probe is not going to end anytime soon, said Robert Ray, who succeeded Kenneth Starr as independent counsel for the Whitewater investigation during the Clinton administration.
