I really want to find the long list I had of stores, businesses, and restaurants where senior citizens and various other special folks can get discounts.
Some places will give you a discount on your birthday!
Let's get this one started. If you know of places where you can get discounts on any day for any reason, post it here. If this should be posted somewhere else, please move it there.

Like tonight at the movies, NH got a senior discount (the age ranges from place to place) and the kids got student rate. Last time we went there they gave me a senior discount but didn't this time, I didn't ask either time. lol

Our local Albertsons (Kroger) gives 10 percent off for 55 plus on the first Wednesday of the month.
I am not 60 yet, but husband is. I tend to use my school I.D. for teacher discounts (Barnes and Noble, Michaels, Joannes Fabrics, etc..), but I would guess maybe some places that offer teacher discount might add a senior.
I don't go to a store unless I look for a coupon online. (Michaels, Pennys, Big 5 Sporting, Hobby Lobby).
Just got an email this morning for a $15 off a $75 order at Albertsons if you order online and pickup curbside. Ha. I might do that.

There are long lists on several websites. I had a document that I cleaned up and saved on my laptop. Of course I can't find it now.

AARP has a 21 page list: file:///C:/Users/rmsporrer/Downloads/MBCHAE-GUIDE-GEN.pdf $12 a year for your first year to AARP, $16 a year thereafter.

This seems to be a great list: https://www.dealnews.com/features/The-Best-Senior-Discounts-from-A-to-Z/987339.html
I do see that they offer 20% off of prescriptions at K-Mart! Good luck with that. Are there any open any more?

Low prices and discounts are nice but I won't support any organization that supports the removal of our rights.
Near the top of that list is:
AARP, Kmart, Walmart, BiMart, Cascade, MacDonalds and a number of restaurants and motels.
The list keeps growing and it reduces the corporate stores that I use in the area but the locally owned stores are happy to have the business.

Thank you. I am not always as aware of that as some are. From the lists, which ones are good?

Locally owned stores and businesses without corporate ties are usually the best bet and you know your money is staying in the community.

Friends, I did some editing, so we are back on track.

The car wash down the street offers 20% off with all car washes only on Wednesdays.

I needed to fill my propane tank for my BBQ, so I went there Thursday morning. I paid $3.30 a gallon. The owner reminded me that only on Wednesday, they sell their propane for $2.30 a gallon. What other discounts are you aware of?

Giving money to the AARP is like paying to have the socialists take control.
I'd rather pay full price than support them.

Saving alert... Homeowners... be aware... property taxes may be going up... and there are things you could possibly do...

Tiff, Better look this gift horse in the mouth. Most government saving comes with a big price tag. At least for those who have something to lose, like control over what goes on with our property.
Most gifts are only free for those who won't work.:)

I am only 57.
Here everyone says you have to be 60.
