Any suggestions on healthy food? Science diet has become too expensive.

I've been feeding my dog Purina One since I got her at 1 year old.
She's now 13 years old and I can still see all her muscles. I think she's gained 2 pounds in the last 12 years, probably due to us giving her food scraps.

I give our dogs and cats the Costco food. The dog food is a decent quality. I do supplement with fresh veggie scraps while I am cooking and they LOVE it. They get a joint supplement since they are 7 and 9 and a bit of fish oil on their food in the winter months.

The cat food is fish free. One of our cats (the oldest) has a fish allergy and vomits all over the house if she eats fish or anything with fish. Most cat foods have fish meal in them so this was a good find for us. The price is not bad either. I grow cat grass for them and give them a can or two of canned food for variety.

From my experience it don’t get much better the purina pro plan. I’ve fed all kinds of different food and that’s the best in my opinion. It’s a fairly healthy food and makes there coats shine and it’s an all life stage food so I don’t have to feed a different food to my seniors or pups Just my 2 cents

My dogs eat Rachel Ray’s Nutrish. I like the ingredients and it’s a nice middle of the road food. They do get scraps of veggies, salmon skin off our filets, grisly meat, etc.
