My favorite seasons are just around the corner and I have a ten man tent that I plan on living in a few days out of the month from October/November to February/March on my ten acres. I'm no stranger to being exposed to the elements, so I'd consider myself fairly weather hardy.
-As stated, I have a ten man tent that I would be calling home. Plan is to tie up a tarp above it with another one below it for water-proofing. I have two water sources, a branch that runs through the property and the river which is about a mile off-site with the capability of filtering collected water. I also plan on having at least three to four gallons at a minimum on hand in the tent.
-Trash that can be burned will be, the rest will be thrown in trash bags and put into my pickup to take off.
-I will have two first aid kits, one in my pickup and the other in the tent with me. I also have two tourniquets.
-I have plenty of snivel gear to keep me warm.
I'm mainly posting this to get input from other more experienced members to see what needs to be addressed. I haven't laid out my entire plan as that would take a while to type out, but some advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like an adventure. I think scouts go for a week at a time. Why not? Brad Angiers has some great books if you’re looking for tips, Scout materials are good, especially older books.
This winter could be extra cold and snowy in some regions, but if you’ve got the bases covered .....
Do you have a good dog?

I do not. Just me.

Wonder if the winter is going to be worse this year as I have a larger amount of firewood stored this year, been working on it for the past few weeks, most of the wood is two years old or longer, perfectly dry.

That is out of my league. I would only ask for a thread to be deleted for obvious reasons, such as pornography or hate speech. I have only asked for one thread to be deleted, and it was, immediately, because it was a hate Weedy thread.
Dang. Someone started a whole thread about hating you? That’s hilarious.

That was already lore by the time I joined but the signal to noise ratio has gone up greatly after they departed.

Ben
Honestly, I don't know what "signal to noise ratio" means, but I do see that there are more people who are participating since their departure. I had people PM me to tell me they would never comment on a thread that was heavily bombarded by them, but, which thread wasn't?

SNR is a term that goes back to radio in its early days that compares how much of what we "hear" is static (useless nonsense) and meaningful information (the broadcast program).

I recall looking at thread updates only to read "I have nothing to add". Those posts do do not add information but only clutters the conversations with worthless clutter.

You my dear sister have a high SNR.

Thank you. You understand that the purpose of posting by them was not to contribute to the conversation, but to have the most posts.

That's stupid and awful, I'm appalled! I enjoy your posts, glad to know you! I don't like bullies!!
I don't like bullies either, and dealing with bullies while teaching and helping children learn to handle bullies was an interesting process. Making the bully accountable for their behavior was always so interesting. They would immediately turn it around and try to pretend that they were the victims, when they were not.

It all comes around😊

I'd suggest building a plywood floor on pallets or using a thick layer of straw underneath your tents floor for insulation. Once the snow starts coming, pile it on the sidewalls of the tent for added insulation.

Can your tent be fitted for a small wood stove like the one below?
