Not after beating on it for twenty years. LOL
Use a worn out chainsaw round file, just snap it off at about 6" and put the rest in with your hunting knife or fire starting kit, waste not, want not!I broke down and made a trip to the Tandy leather and after seeing some of the prices and availability on tools I am going to do like Frodo and make a few tool items.
What do you use to round the corners on smaller items?
I tried to find something in the 3/8 to 1/2 " dia. Range but the smallest arc cutter was 5/8" and $65 !!!
Later today I am going to build a leather awl, I'll start with a concrete nail and may hafta resort to a small file. Dang I hate messin up a good file.
I advanced my crackheads 80$ and haven't seen them since.
No good deed...
There's a couple of leather knives with Frodo's name on them down the end of this road...
If you take the leather and wad it up in a ball over and over. It will get softI need some real thin leather a soft veg tan about 1 mil , all the had at Tandy that thin was stiff as card stock.
Expensive piece of equipmentNeither of you guys own a leather splitter?
Glue twice, glue, let set, glue again, let set. Press together then tap with a hammerHey Frodo....what glues do ya use? I have some Tanners bond but it don't stick so well. I think I nerd to diversify.
Already stained leather will give you problems, rough up sand paper. Those areas for a good sealGlue twice, glue, let set, glue again, let set. Press together then tap with a hammerView attachment 116978
