Frost free hydrant installation

Hi y'all quick question when installing a frost free Campbell hydrant. How much is normal to leak out of the bottom drainage hole? I am having a tough time getting no water to pour out when I turn it off. Thanks in advance and have a wonderful day

We all have " Doh!" moments.

There was a time when Ben discovered he had forgotten his wallet and subsequently drove into town twice only or be reminded he was on vacation.

It might just be a matter of adjusting it.
If the rod is adjusted to long then the rubber stopper at the bottom of the pipe might not open up the hole to allow the water to drain out.
