gallon jugs

just thought i would put my 2 cents in on this. convience stores are great for gallon plastic jugs and candy comtainers. they are great for storing nuts a , screws, etc. they have lids. however they are not really good for storing things you want to critter proof. also sometimes they get gallon glass jugs.

My favorite use for gallon jugs lately is to fill them with hot water and bring them outside in the morning to de ice my chicken, turkey, and dog water. I used them for a ton of stuff. Occasionally, I'll have one spring a leak

I used some of the gallon jugs years ago.
But i now use 5 gallon bucket, I love them.

I use juice and milk jugs as mini greenhouses for plants. I have an old plastic gallon jug I use just to water the house plants ( I use it for feeding them also). I cut one heavy duty juice jug into a scoop for scooping potting soil ( I glued the lid on because for some reason it kept coming off lol)

I had a nice glass gallon jar for sun tea but it disappeared for some reason. Now I have to use a half gallon Ball jar

I use mine for cloches in the garden too. Plus I use a gallon and a half gallon one to make a mung bean sprouter that keeps the beans nice and straight. I like 'straight' mung beans, though I imagine crooked ones taste the same, LOL.

A friend gave me two 2.50 gallon jugs with the top mounted handles.
