When I hit the "Big 5-0", my half century of living hit me...hard! Overweight, joint pain, low energy, trouble sleeping, digestive issues, lab numbers started really headed the wrong way...and I started thinking about stuff like hearth disease, cancer, arthritis, yada-yada-yada. Sucked! And whenever I went to my doctor, he was always ready to prescribe another pill, and maybe a pill to counteract the bad effects of the first one. Freaking scary. So I made some pretty drastic changes to my diet...and they have really helped. And I shared them with many folks, but from what I see, most are not ready to give up their meat, dairy, eggs, fish, and wheat, so they turn a deaf ear.

But I'm here to tell you there is one way you can help reduce and/or counteract, to some degree, some of the problems you are causing in your diet. These solutions are not silver bullets of the bacon and eggs every day diet, but they help. They are not expensive, and can be easily found at your local grocery store if you look. And while there are a plethora of different items you can add to your food to help boost the nutritional value of your chow, I'm gonna keep this simple and just give you three to start; Flax, Chia, and Hemp seeds.

All three are very easy to incorporate into your diet. They can be added to soups, salads, grits, oatmeal, stews, yogurt, ice cream, shakes, and even juice or water. Flax and Hemp seeds have a slightly nutty taste, where Chia seeds work best where they can absorb liquid (in juice/smoothie/tea/etc.).

There is debate which work "best", but the truth is they are all very good and can be incorporated into your daily diet easily. I suggest you start out with Flax and Chia first, and add in Hemp as you go.
