Many years ago my father gave me a cutting torch set up with a cart. The cart had steel wheels. I replaced the wheels with rubber wheels. Don't ask me why, young and silly I guess. Just today I replaced some rubber wheels on a hand card with steel wheels. That darn hand cart wheels kept going flat. I would air it up and piddle around when I really needed it. Well out in the barn there was a couple steel wheels the correct diameter. ( probably from my cutting torch cart LOL ) . I pulled those flat tires and put the steel wheels on. No more flat tires.

I still have the torch cart with the rubber wheels and it has held up good. We had a old wheelbarrow that had a steel wheel. When I was a kid I thought it was a piece of junk. Wish I had it now, it was a robust, tough wheel barrow. A solid rubber tire can be had for a wheel barrow and that's what I put on mine.
