Years ago, when my dad was still alive, he had a crown for his molar made of gold. This tooth was eventually pulled, and ended up in his safe, which I inherited. Can anyone tell me if dental gold is worth much? I was once told they add impurities to mold dental gold, but I hate to throw this away. What should I do with it?

It has value. Keep it for future trade or sell it now. Backlash, thanks for the link.

This is interesting. I have five gold crowns in my mouth. Two of them are on implants. When I need a crown I tell the dentist I want it made from gold. He tries to talk me into a crown that is ceramic (or whatever) that is colored white. I tell him, "no," I want gold. At any rate, the cost of just the gold crown is the same as a ceramic crown, about $500. Go figure. I am sure part of the cost is for the manufacture of the crown.
