That looks like some good info...thanks. If I recall correctly, another member here, @BuzzinSATX , uses buckets in his garden, and I think it was pretty successful.

We typically do tomatoes and jalapenos, but that's about it. But, we are in an area where rats are a problem, and they end up damaging alot of what we grow. Last year, I think we ended up trapping about 15 rats as the fruit was ripening, and we still had issues after that.
