I'm ok but the smoke has been terrible.
    My eyes haven't stopped watering.

All this wouldn't have happened if they - the government, had a half way decent plan of controlled burns to remove fuel loads.
Our enviornement, our landscape - plants and animals have adapted to fire.
    They're life cycles NEED fire.
So, when the country isn't burnt every second season you get these massive destructive wildfires.
This will continue to happen until the powers that be come to terms with
the very nature of the land they govern and do what the Aboriginals have done
    for centuries.

Glad to hear you are ok @Tank-Girl.

You are right about back burning the under brush regularly and then you and all of us wouldn't get the these massive wildfires. The greenies have a lot to do with it protesting about everything I think. Wonder how long it will take the governments to realise how stupid they are on this subject, if ever.

Y'all sound like us. Save the forest! Save the spotted owl! That's all fine and dandy until a fire gets sparked, then the owls are toast, along with everything else!

I noticed him is why I tagged him in post above. I sure hope he is not holding back news because it is bad. I hope Gump went back to his wife or something like that.

Witholding news wouldn't be Jim's way.

I'd love to have Jim post some more. And the woods do need to be better managed so those huge fires are not able to build so large. Glad to hear that @Tank-Girl and others are okay.

Withholding no news is also withholding news. If Jim doesn't know then eh should answer us and say so.
Phildeaux why do you not reply to us who are concerned?
Yet you hang around and like certain post and don't comment.

I just heard from Phideaux. He said to say hi to everyone and that he'd be around to play when things slowed down. He reports that all are doing well, at least as well as age allows.

That's one of the good things to come out of the forest fire we had here in 2013, it mostly burned the under brush in the forests above us which will reduce the probability of fires in the area for a number of years to come.
