I have a small cabin on 5 acres in the upper desert of California. It’s a weekend off grid project that’s slowly progressing into a habitable cabin. I have solar power, tanked water and will be installing a septic system in a few months. It’s been an adventure over the last year or so and my wife and I have weathered the extreme heat and cold winds during our cabin rebuild. We love the peace and quiet compared to our city life weekday domicile. Looking forward to learning from others here and contributing if I can to off grid topics.

Do you have mojave greens where you are? They are supposed to be the deadliest rattlesnake. When I lived in Southern California back in the 1970s and 80s, my buddies and I would go camping out in the desert outside of Randsburg, Johannesburg and Red Mountain. We'd get drunk and kill them.

How do I get a pet cougar?
You can probably order one online... just not in Kalifornia, lol. 
The only cougar I'd want from Kommiefornia is a retired porn star.
