Look behind you in that dark corner.
Iced and salted beer mugs:
Materials:
The mugs or glasses you're going to prepare.
A kettle of ice water big enough to submerge your glass in.
a clean rubber glove.
a pan with 1/2 an inch of salt in it
a broiler pan big enough to fit the glasses you're doing AND fit in your freezer.
Line the broiler pan with a light misting of cooking spray.
dip the rim of the glass into the ice water a moment and swish it lightly.
dip the rim into the salt and twist.
transfer it to the pan in the freezer immediately.
Let sit for at least an hour before use.

Specialty salts for special drinks:
In a 5"X2" saucer mix 1/4 cup of table salt or coarse ground sea salt, two tablespoons of seasoned salt.
1 large pinch of chili pepper powder, 1 large pinch of black pepper, and one pinch of citric acid.
Mix well. this approximates the Monte Alban salt that comes with the tequila reposado.

1/2 and half 1 part salt, 1 part citric acid for tequila shots Or Mexican beer.
pure season salt for reposado shots.

Rimming "Specialty drinks"
For fruity drinks or Bourbon, dip the rim into apple juice, then screw it around in a saucer of brown sugar and a large pinch of nutmeg before freezing.

For a sweet cocktail type, use pineapple juice and a 50/50 mix of salt and sugar, great for "dosed" eggnog!

Don't waste your leftover salt mixes! that stuff can be dried out and saved in a jar or used in BBQ!
