You don't have millions of dollars to build that doomsday bunker equip with the best of everything?

Your budget for preps is more in-line with single income with a family to feed and house, then this may be for you.

Howard Leight by Honeywell Impact Sport sound amplification electronic shooting earmuff (R-01526). ($50). We use these at the fire range for our hearing protection. These have an eight inch/3.5mm audio plug.

Compact Speaker Mic with Kelvar reinforced cable for Baofeng Radio (A pack of 2 for $33).

StarTech.com 3 ft slim Audio Cable - MU3MMSRA. ($4).

Baofeng UV-5R Dual Band two way radio. ($24)

Connect the audio cable to the audio plugs on the Earmuff and the mic. Connect the hardwired cable to the Baofeng. Use the attached mike clip to attach the mike to your shirt label/jacket/battle vest/etc.

For $111 you have amplified hearing, hearing protection from loud noises, radio audio directly into your earmuffs (radio external speaker is muted) and a push to talk mike within easy reach.

Free bonus.

In our Kawasaki 610 Mule we have a CB SBB radio installed. A external audio cable runs from the CB's external speaker jack to a jack between the Mule's driver and passenger. Same 3 foot audio cable mentioned above is then connected to the driver's and/or passenger's earmuffs. CB can now be heard above the sound of the Mule's engine or other loud noise environments.

If you don't feel comfortable clicking on the four Amazon links provided above just copy the description of each item and use Amazon's search widow to review further.
