Let’s talk jerky.
Who makes it and what recipes do you use?
Tips and tricks definitely welcome as well.
I’m looking to change it up from my one basic recipe I’ve always used.
My most go to trick is to use a slice of bread in the jerky container for jerky I’ve managed to “over dehydrate” and it adds moisture back.

Mine is probably the most basic recipe on the entire forum. But it's tried and true and I just keep sticking with it. It also lets me make jerky without soy sauce or sugar. This recipe is for approx. 3lbs of meat cut into thin strips.

1 cup coconut aminos
2-3 tbsp liquid smoke
2-3 tbsp minced garlic
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika

Marinate thin strips of beef (or whatever) in the fridge for 24 hours, flipping the bag from time to time. Lay strips on cooking racks (I use old cooling racks) and bake in the oven at 165 degrees for approx. 3 1/2 hours. Be careful not to over cook.

Coconut aminos tastes similar to soy sauce, but the flavor is more "buttery, it contains no soy, has a lot less sodium, has a natural sweetness to it that means you don't need to add sugar, and is gluten free. I use it for a number of different marinades as well as jerky.
