As far as I know, I haven't done anything anywhere on my computer to change why that would happen.
It may have happened to me twice in my techo life and of course I'm not a computer specialist, so can anyone point me in the direction I would need to go to get the avatars back? I think joel, cnsper and the new herb lady's avatars were the only ones that were showing up.
I can see videos and photos fine. Help.

Please let us know which ones. That is a blanket statement and hard to understand what you mean. The avatars all show up for me, so I'm a bit confused. Yeah, I know that is an easy task for me.
I do know if my internet service is poor, it does take a lot of time to load.

As a point of reference, I'm using a fresh build HP 8300 desktop that's pretty high performance, like gaming computer fast, and the HTTP/CSS is all rendering just as it should for me, no missing avatars, or anything else not loading as it should.

Right-o, @SeventiesWreckers I know I must have accidentally pulled up the codes the other night, apparently I also accidentally tapped or clicked something too. Scares me when I see it, so I quickly close it.
That must have been where I messed things up. I'll see if one of the offspring can help.

So sorry for your troubles with that. I don't have any problems on this site, but my VPN, Ad Blockers/ & Tracker Blocker programs do interfere sometimes with graphics & programs on other sites. So, if your running anything like that, you might try turning it off & doing a page reload just to see what happens, if anything.

I think duck duck go, @havasu
Is my server. I so appreciate your advice!!!
Offspring's response: that's weird.
I'll check that in the later morning.
@havasu :Thankyou:

Duck Duck Go is a search engine not a browser. Like @havasu recommended I would download the newest version of Mozilla Firefox to use as your browser but I would keep Duck Duck Go as your search engine, that's the same set up I use.

ok, soooo....i kind of downloaded or refreshed firefoxy, but i'm still using chrome, and all the avatars are back! So thanks for the help y'all dudes.
This laptop is about 9 or 10 years old, which is close to fossilized I guess.

Yeah, if it's 9-10 years old, it's probably running a CPU that's 4-5 generations back from what's being sold today. And, since the power of your CPU dictates how far you can go in Graphics Card upgrades, you end up limiting out. Slow loading & rendering issues are harbingers, and one day you'll probably hit the power button, and the silly thing just won't start. I'd look around to pickup some USB drives to transfer all the library files onto, just in case it quits before you can replace it. Because you really don't want to get stuck having to try to repair a broken laptop just to retrieve 10 years worth of pictures, music, docs, etc, or face losing it all.

@havasu @Sentry18 @SeventiesWreckers @Mr.Meer
Well guys, it happened. It died last night. A tech did a data transfer for me. And only angels know where my passwords for every darn thing are stored or written.

Sorry to hear that it died on you. Your passwords were probably in the Temporary Internet Files Cache, & it sounds like they might have gotten purged, or not carried over as part of your data transfer. Glad you did get your files saved though.

Mr. @SeventiesWreckers guess what? I am in on the new laptop. My kids saw it and they said it was SO BIG. Made me laugh. They want it small. Will probably pm one of you techy guys later about a couple of things. So helpful yall are, more so than the guy who did my data transfer.
