That is not what the copyright laws say.
As soon as you post on a forum your post along with the thread is no longer your post. It is part of a complete work that belongs to the forum owner.
The difference is you can copy your post (only your post) and use it elsewhere. The forum must use it as part of the context and content of the entire thread and cannot use just your post outside that context.
You retain your copyright but can't remove that part from the forum as you have given them a limited right to use it.
See like this post I started to ask a question then realized it is already answered in the thread, so now I have to use icon. Even if the post can't ever really be erased once posted its still nice to be able to not post if its in error.

We can still delete our post its just harder to do so and we have to put a period, number or letter to do so. So the only difference is it leaces a black post with an icon on it.
You can edit your post for a time. You can do a post and not hit the Post Thread or Post reply button, and when you come back to that thread that reply will be there for you to post or if you leave it long enough, it disappears.

And the delete is not going to be set if I were to do it it would mess up a related feature for everyone.

Just a thought... I often find myself looking for certain high use threads under "Front Porch Chat" or "Off Topic". Seems I'm always looking at the wrong board for a thread, switching back and forth... Can't remember which thread is under which board... CRS disease.

Does anyone else think its a good idea to put all these high use threads under the same board? Also include all the music, tv watching and movie threads to that same board? I waste time every day switching back and forth between these to boards trying to post in multiple categories, maybe it's just me.

Here are current locations of some of these threads.

Front porch chat
Post a photo, a real photo
Humor and jokes
A Blast from the past Classic Ads
A home of my dreams
Funny pet memes
Nature As Works of Art
I love them old Barns
Whats for dinner

Off Topic
Jokes and Humor
Military History
Car Porn
Military Pictures & Info
Word association game
Good movie suggestions

"Recipes" is also under this board, should be under "Cooking, Recipes, Preserving Foods"

Also... either "Jokes and Humor" or "Humor and Jokes" is closed. I can never remember which, can we delete the one that isn't used? or hide it if it's being worked on? Or simply rename the closed thread to "Old Jokes" so the names are more distinct.

I don't know why there were 2 threads "Jokes and Humor" and "Humor and Jokes".
I just merged them into "Jokes and Humor"
I also moved the recipe thread into the Cooking forum.

@Angie, I can't setup ONE forum for those 2 forums to be combined.
" Off Topic Porch chat"

How's that sound. Covers the whole enchilada.
