I bought a copy of the dvd movie “Midway” last year with H. Fonda and C. Heston… I always watch it on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. An Excellent movie!
Midway and The Longest day are 2 of the best ever made IMO. They are classics in my mind.
I bought the classics in my mind in the last year or less while they are cheap and still available…

Excellent list right there. Sergeant York is a fine movie. He grew up an hour or so from us. in a wonderful area. Hell and Back and Battle of the bulge are as well.

This was the new "Midway" I'm referring to, saw it at the theater last week. Luke Evans, Woody Harrelson, Patrick Wilson, Dennis Quaid, Ed Skrein.
I'm hopin to see it over Thanksgiving day weekend with the inlaws. BIL is Marine and has already saw it an loved it.

Took this pic in the late ‘80’s. It was a multi-plane practice drop at Standiford Field (now Louisville International Airport).
President Trump spent the day with the military in Afghanistan today. He is currently on his way back home after serving meals to the fighting men.

Yeah, they did say that and they presented it as if he was doing the wrong thing. ? Always got to make him look as bad as possible.
I do not get how someone can be so deluded and daft as to pretend to be a military hero when they are nothing more than a sad little ***hat.

The U.S. also had one similar, an eagle "gold" button called a "Ruptured Duck." I had an authentic one in my collection somewhere, if I ever find it.
Sure enough. Seems like it was only for veterans however versus persons who attempted to enlist that were denied for medical reasons. http://americanwarlibrary.com/theduck.htm
Actually I have had Christmas dinner courtesy of the US Navy. It was very good too. Turkey with all the trimmings. We ate well on an Aircraft Carrier.
My only complaint was I had to stand in line for 2 hours to get it.
