Good mushrooming spots are like good fishing spots...
Keep it secret, keep it safe!

There are a lot of things people keep secret so it will not be decimated.
There is a guy in Oregon that collects Lady Bugs every year.
He collects more than all the other people collect combined.
He has been followed and someone even put a GPS tracker on his truck.
Last I read he was still the only person that knows his secret location.

He sells them to nurseries.
People buy Lady Bugs to put in their rose gardens and other places.
Ladybugs are general predators that feed on a variety of slow-moving insects including Aphids, Moth eggs, Mites, Scales, Thrips, Leaf Hoppers, Mealybugs, Chinch Bugs, Asparagus Beetle larvae, Whitefly and others.

We shouldn't have any of the above in our immediate area then. I've never seen so many ladybugs in all my life as there is here!
I thought @backlash was talking about a type of mushroom I'd not heard of, lol.

There are several groups in this fungi division Basidiomycota. We used to step on them for fun and watch the "smoke" or puffiness poof out. When you get to them early enough, they can be used for food, but I never tried one. We once saw one bigger than a dinner plate alongside the road.
