A recent forum post prompted me to toy with my Henry AR-7. I filed down the flash where the two pieces of the stock were joined together, sanded the stock, and painted the stock with multiple coats of a matte deep olive / forest green. I added a SeeAll Tritium sight and a Crimson Trace laser onto the picatinny rail. I am ready to sight it in as soon as the temps drop a bit.

Handled one at the LGS. If I got out in the woods like I did 60+ years ago, I'd have one. Like your stock, kind of dismayed by the electrics - but it ain't my gun, eh?

VThillman - I understand. I can no longer see well enough to use iron sights. I have optics of some kind on all my long guns and some of my handguns just so I can still use and enjoy them. I don't get out in the woods. I drive down to my 50 yd range and shoot from the seat of my Arctic Cat side x side. I use the Arctic Cat to go back and forth to the target stand. I don't walk well anymore either.... :)

Kevin - I really like how it turned out too - especially pleased because I painted it outside after I impaled it on a piece of rebar driven into the ground. It looks factory. It is my 2nd paint job using this Rustoleum camo paint. I painted a sniper stock for a Rem 700 first. I used 3 colors on it. It looks factory also. Besides looking good, this paint has a 'grippy' texture to it. Not like sand paper, but not slick like the original plastic surface. It just feels: 'matte'.

    Copy that Terry...

I may get creative and go Woodland Camo or Viet Nam era Tiger Stripe on mine...to match some of my BDU collection.
