It is so hard to see Notre- Dame in Paris burning...to see the spire collapse into the flames...such pure and gothic architecture burning...the paintings, wall hangings, precious stained glass...my heart is breaking for the people of France....

No matter what it will be called an accident.
Nobody wants blood in the streets so it will be an accident. And maybe I agree with that.

Renovation work going on, probably an electrical short. Lotta history in those flames, though.

They have many rules for renovations in France. In this case ALL electric wires had to be shielded from any wood.
In the last few weeks 12 other churches in France (mostly in Paris) have been hit with arson.
I am suspicious due to the timing of just a few days before Easter.
No way we will EVER know the truth of what really happened.

I almost wept when I saw the Notre Dame spire and church go up in flames such a loss of valuable history and artwork.

No doubt it is not coincidental about the other churches fires too and we all have a strong suspicion who is responsible. Two days prior a woman of an unmentioned ethnic group, think about it, had been caught trying to light a fire in the Notre Dame. We have reliable websites, which are not mainstream media which we won't name, that gave the information.

I was there long ago. I sat on a pew in the main cathedral for about a half hour trying to soak it all in. I realized I could have sat there for a month and still not soaked it all in.

Truly sad... and truly arson... :(

Looks like its mostly stone. The roof looks wooden but how much is wood is there to burn?

Funny, the stained glass is what I remember the most. I was there in August on a bright sunny day. The light streaming through those windows was beautiful. They filled the cathedral with color

Not a hoax though @BlueZ as we saw footage of them (posted by them as well) doing just that and the finger salute at the same time . Never believe mainstream media and look for the sites that tell what actually is happening which you noted that you have.

It is such a sad thing. The church took over a hundred years to build. An interviewed architect said even with unlimited money it would take a couple decades to rebuild. In this day-and-age I don't think it will ever be rebuilt.

I too thought it was made out of stone, but a friend pointed out that it took 51 acres of a wooded forest to create the lumber necessary to build this piece of history.

I also wish there was a correlation between the rumors of it being torched by Muslims, because this would wake up the world what is in store for those who think that religion is a peaceful religion.

Again, there were hundreds of workers employed and I have no doubt that it was just a tragic accident.

Actually, it took almost 200 years to build it originally.
What burned was the wood/roof. The roof and it's spires were actually built in the 1800's. With today's technology, they should be able to rebuild it relatively quickly. If it took 7 years to build the Freedom Tower in NYC, addressing fire damage and new (although ornate) roof on Notre Dame shouldn't take decades.

Here's a pic of the interior this morning.

The fire is disheartening, but it's not the total loss most make it out to be. Notre Dame has quite a history of ups and downs. This Imgur post (of a ?Twitter? post) puts it in perspective: https://m.imgur.com/gallery/YcAiQYA

Another French billonaire has made a huge donation to have it rebuilt and from what I read a French historical society is running a gofundme page along with many others and they are also appealing for public donations in France too.

Another woman of unnamed ethnicity was also found out the front of the Notre Dame with a car bomb two days before the fire on Friday prayers day too. She was arrested also.
