The county prosecutor here is quite "Progressive" to say the least. Inside your home they "should" be bought and paid for, outside is another story. My shoulder rig has a Sig P220/45 with a canister of pepper spray as a first deterrent if lethal is not called for at that time. I am lucky with the various physical training that I have had over the years. I also have an expandable walking staff that I can use to help "steady" myself especially in snow. For me it can also double as a baton that I trained with. Innocent looking, yet affective for my needs. Big thing it TO PUT THE CELL PHONE DOWN AND BE OBSERVANT! I dealt with criminal clients for over twenty years and learned what not to do to avoid being a "mark" and hitable.

I'm a medium sized woman who only has my wit and weapons aka gun to defend me.But hubby tales up the slack so I probably wouldn't have ot use mine unless there were more than on attackers.
Good you have training too. Hubby use to be good with numchucks but stopped using them decades ago.

I bought a few more boxes of lead at the store. Online bulk buying is crazy again and I refuse to pay 2-3x the price for FMJ's than I did 4 months ago. I also have been practicing less since restocking is getting tricky.

Really though I should clean them. They all work but could use a few hours of my OCD cleaning ritual lol

Been a little lazy with our food preps for the last few years. These times have me hauling something in daily and getting us built back up to where we were during the Obama years. I’m really bothered by the things going on in our world at the moment.

I've been buying extra since May. I've already run out of shelving. Now I'm counting on having to feed my parents as well.

There are lefties who would rather tear our nation apart that allow a fair election. They don't care how many people are hurt or killed...

No matter which way it goes I'm afraid it's going to get bad. I want to be ready no matter what happens.

I am SO excited! I'm picking up Death on Saturday morning! I hate hate hiway driving and I've got several hours one way to get there but he's so going to be worth it.

I'm been pricing wire-less security systems and my landlord is building me a 6 foot fence to keep the vermin out and Death in.
Okay, I'm going sound stupid.
Why are you picking up Death?
Unless Death is an animal of some sort.

New here, but I'll throw in my 2 cents.
Our family has maintained food storage (along with other necessary things) for 3 decades, each item is dated when we put it on the shelf and we use a First In First Out inventory control. But over time our family changed and so has the volume of food we needed.

Back in March we decided to do update our inventory (document what we have) to identify holes. As we did, we discovered some holes, we also identified some older supplies, so as we shopped to fill holes, we also ate older stuff to avoid spoilage. Our approach has been to store what eat eat and eat what we store. (We learned to practice eating some of the long term storage foods, some needed getting used to, some the dog wouldn't eat).

Anyway, as things are we should all be looking into what will we need if COVIT-19 stays active for another 18 months. The Spanish Flu had about 3 very active years and left people very skidish (from what I have read).

Death??? Ah, as I was typing saw @MoBookworm1957 asked for me :)

I too am doing what I can to fill any voids now while there is at least a chance and availability.

So this morning for just under $95 I got: 12 lbs butter, 3 gal. white vinegar, 3 lb. cream chz., 5 doz eggs, 6 jars of peperoncinis, 3 bottles of worchestershire sauce, 1 bottle of aspirin, 1 sm. thing of parsley (mine didn't grow) & 1.5 lb bacon. Butter was $1 off per lb. so that was a good deal and it freezes well. Now I just need to keep watching for a coffee sale.

Store had canned veggies ( good till 2020!) for .50 a can so I bought multiple cases each of green beans, corn, carrots, peas, potatoes and tomatoes. Also bought cases of canned beans. This will last us a couple of years.
Made the last payment on my FJ Cruiser so we don't have that bill now to pay each month
Paid off the mortgage last year.
Been taking any extra money and buying shiny metal lol Have 2 places to go to now and when one is out the other seems to have some
Getting out of any debt is my major project I've been working on now for a few years. It was great being able to pay for a new fridge right away when ours died on us a few months back.
And paying for the Cruiser to be serviced like it needed before winter hit. Such a satisfying feeling.

Working towards getting a metal roof on the place. The one now is almost 30 years old and will need replacing very soon
Since we added a large bedroom, den and a large sunroom I had to redo the whole roof, I made a cold roof over the north side and used rib lock metal roof over the whole roof, up to this point I've always used three tab asphalt roofing and it was getting very bad, the mineral surface was almost all gone in less than 15 years. As far as I'm concerned, metal is the only way to go, we live in a forest fire prone area and having a metal roof allows us to have flammable weeds, trees and other things only clear out to a 50' circle around our home, other roofing material would need a 100' circle, I like to do as much as I can out from our buildings to keep any fire danger to a minimum.

Here is latest member of the household security detail - Death.

Death is HUGE. Seriously a very large animal who takes his job extremely seriously.
His training is superb.
I took him for a walk and he ignored all the barking dogs but the second someone stepped outside he keyed in straight away. Someone would have to have rocks in their head to try to approach me while I'm out on a walk.
At all times he felt under control even though he was alert and focused.

What is the mix? I can tell there is German Shepard but there is something there with a short snout? Boxer or Rott?

There's no Mix. He's 100% pure from Imported German lines. He's also received multiple gradings of Excellent under German breed specialist judges. Obviously you have no idea what you're talking about.

That's OK, I have been wrong before.
