We have a photo thread for just about everything, so why not prepping & survival? Only in this section those images can be entertaining or educational. Here are some examples to get us going.

Why would the nation's clean water supply begin to run out in two weeks if trucks stopped? As long as the electric power worked the water should be fine almost everywhere.

I believe they are referencing municipal water that has already been processed.

The chemicals (mainly chlorine) required to make it "safe" couldnt be replaced.

And the nuts in the larger municipalities that would leave open fire hydrants that would drain the system faster then the water could be replaced.

Fire hydrants opened and closed too fast (water hammer) could cause water mains to break, introducing more water lose and a source of contamination.

I would think they would have more than a two week supply of chemicals. Would be simple enough to do water rationing if required. Also many of the chemicals used might not be needed and the water could still be safe to drink in at least some places.
In most places commercial users use way more water than residences. Just shut down commercial use if there was a problem.

Our kids and grandkids learned their knots with that chart. I had a nice laminated one with a book to go with it and two color practice rope. Brought it to the Amish school when we closed ours.
I could see having this as an activity for children at schools. Pieces of rope, laminated instruction charts. Much better than screen time.

The missing piece is when and where to use which knots.

Those buddy burners work great. Grandson and I made a bunch of them one day, we used old candles and coiled strips of corrugated cardboard. Tested one of them and it burned for 9 hours. Used empty tuna cans and cat food cans.
I have made a bunch of these as well. I need to put one in my BOB. Another great activity to involve children in.

Hey Weedy...grandkids use those knots when stringing up birds to butcher, fixing outdoor things. Wish I was better with knots, but the kids are naturals.
You're right, Terri. GS doesn't do squat except promote a liberal feminist agenda. Heritage Girls is good.
