Sanicle sp. There are two, one native to Europe and one native to the eastern US. It’s at home in hardwood timber. The European version has white blooms and the US version has yellow blooms.
It’s an ancient woundwort. It will heal internal bleeding and external. It’s great for bleeding lungs, the G/I track and for infections. One ounce of dried sanicle boiled in 1.5 pints of water until reduced to a pint. The tea can be drunk 4 to 5 times a day.
It was almost forgotten after the middle ages. It’s become popular again. It grows everywhere around here. I found it blooming friday.
