Some Serious Wood Working

    7-8 years ago I took down a dead tree. The homeowner (who died last year) was a WWII bomber pilot.
    We let the log standing about 10' tall and his children went together to have this carved from the log. The carver had an actual picture of the gentleman that was taken next to his plane. He showed my the picture the carving was based on. I don't have a rear view but his parachute is back there too.

    That's awesome! In town here we have a large Bald Eagle in one person's yard and another house has the mascot of a local sports team. Some people were blessed with amazing talents.

    Very impressive work. Folks who do that kind of art fascinate me on how they can take something that is just there and make it into something everyone can enjoy.
