Musical memories are funny. The one that usually comes to mind first is "Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On" because as it was playing a lady friend walked into the room with hers OFF. It became "Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans Off" after that. The next one is "Waltz Across Texas" because a lady friend taught me to waltz using it and by telling me it was a march - left - right - left -- right - left - right. I had tried to learn how to waltz several times before that without success and we danced together anytime "Waltz Across Texas" played - no matter who we were with. Thanks Rose! I still love you and the waltz!

This is what happens when you call for help from the audience!! Listen all the way and enjoy! Brings back the "good ole days!!"

Best version of Orange Blossom Special I've heard in quite a while!!!

Thanks Meerkat. The last time we danced she was out with her soon to be husband, whom I hadn't met yet, and as the song began I waked to her table and put my hand out. She got up without hesitation and we danced. We never had a "thing" and were just friends but her fiancée did not like the way we danced. I escorted her back to the table and was introduced to him. After I apologized and ordered a round of drinks we sat and got to know each other better. He decided that he was going to learn to waltz. I never saw either of them again but if he is half the man I think he is they are happy together.

Bring back memories...
How about dating as a teen, smooching in the car at a drive in, or cruising on a doube date ..
this one was a biggie to get them gals a smoothin..:ghostly:

Jim

Good one Jim, beautiful romance songs are seldom heard now a days.:Thankyou::thumbs:

I have some nice drive in memories also. But my first kiss was playing 'spin the bottle'.

Cheap department or drug store parfume ' Evening In Paris' and thinking of boys in a different way other than if I could beat them up or get up a tree or swim faster.

And DRAG RACING. I picked on a Nomad Wagon once in Daytona Beach. It left me in its smoke. We had a 55 Chevy with 456 Possitive traction 4 in the floor 327 , and I laughed when the ' station wagon ' pulled up and revved its motor. Wiped that smile right off my face. I didn't even hit 2nd gear before it was long gone.

Time to pay the piper now but I even liked this song when I was having fun, right before the rude awakening of eloping with Don Juan wannabe, RIP.

I need to lighten up this sad sack cause I ain't dead yet, working on it but not there hopefully not even close, lol.

Dancing and meeting hubby in 1978 and Disco. Now time to take a trip without leaving the cage ,I mean forest. I miss the night lights 'sometimes'. I'm also glad to get back here after a time away.

Saw these guys live on stage in 1975ish at 4 OClock Club in Ft.Laudedale, not Rob Thomas of course he probably wasn't born yet, nor was the song,Smooth.

Original song.

that was fun even my dog enjoyed it. Cheap trip too only 1 1/2 beers, roses get the rest.

This song was the one mama kept asking me to play, she liked the song his voice and especially the piano in it. I know he was a fallen man ' like the rest of us' but he was very talented too.

Music is soothing to the soul, I brought my aunt a cassett player with ear plugs when she was passing and my cousins said it was first time they seen her smile and laugh as she sang the old 40s and 50s, etc. songs I put in it. It was funny too she kept singing out loud the words. Next song came on and she'd say, " I love this song". She was very depressed before the music.
It is good that @phideaux is singing to his mother it really helps the sick.:heart:.

Great instrumental solos starting at 2:02 too.

I played mom's favorite tunes on YouTube for her last summer when she was coming off the dementia drugs. She'd sing along while I cooked supper. She was amazed I could type in the name of a song and then she could hear it! I was talking to her on the phone the other night, and she has a CD player in her apartment. She said she missed hearing the music, so she ordered some oldies that she saw advertised on tv on the Time Life series.
