Followed and listened to this group for years. Helps me think while I'm trying to locate work.

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from hell
Blue skies from pain
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
And how we found
The same old fears
Wish you were here

On the turning away
From the pale and downtrodden
And the words they say
Which we won't understand
"Don't accept that what's happening
Is just a case of others' suffering
Or you'll find that you're joining in
The turning away"
It's a sin that somehow
Light is changing to shadow
And casting it's shroud
Over all we have known
Unaware how the ranks have grown
Driven on by a heart of stone
We could find that we're all alone
In the dream of the proud
On the wings of the night
As the daytime is stirring
Where the speechless unite
In a silent accord
Using words you will find are strange
And mesmerized as they light the flame
Feel the new wind of change
On the wings of the night
No more turning away
From the weak and the weary
No more turning away
From the coldness inside
Just a world that we all must share
It's not enough just to stand and stare
Is it only a dream that there'll be
No more turning away?

I'm listening to this while I am clacking keys and banging away at tomorrow's newspaper column (that I should have done two days ago)

Here's a four hour compilation of Pink Floyd:

Oh I WISH that I could find this particular video in Youtube, but don't have time to right now. Here is the most awesome Gig in the Sky vocals I have ever seen or heard. This was posted on Facebook a couple of months ago:

"The Great Gig in the Sky".
Live in Venezia - Italy, Canale di San Marco.
Piazza San Marco, 15 July - 1989.

Is this the one your referring too ?

OK, I am new at understanding Facebook links... so the only people who can see the video in post #3 are ones who have FB accounts? That video won't play here?

No I think it would be viewable just fine. It’s personal lol, I can’t stand farcebook whatsoever. But not important I still like your music choice which is the point of the conversation. I’ve just gotten too used to seeing YouTube which are a topic into itself. :groupdancing:

What amazes me is how there has never been anything close to what Pink Floyd was. Their style is so unique no one has been able to imitate it, although many have tried.

I love this one...

David Gilmour and Roger Waters return to Pompeii after 45 years... just as grand as ever
