Stunning Interview Sees China Warn "23 Million Australians" That US Pact Now Makes Them "Target" For Nuclear Attack | ZeroHedge

This is a brazen and bold threat of what literally means a preemptive nuclear strike if hostilities with the west break out.

A little snippet:

The ABC host questioned directly, "Are you saying that Australia will be targeted by China? Are you warning that Australia now is under threat?"

Gao that repeated that his words have been "clear" - reiterating that China will see Australia as in breach of having a nuclear free zone and that this will carry with it profound consequences. He then repeated his "thinly-veiled threat that the AUKUS pact announced last week was a 'gross violation of international law' that will have 'profound consequences' for 'brainless' Aussies."

This is getting out of control and nothing is apparently standing in China's way. Need to prep accordingly!

They have said the same to South Korea, Japan and the Philippines in the last few months.

It is part of a staged plan.

1) Intimidate all the potential allies of Taiwan and those that want to push back on the Chinese claim over the South China Sea
2) Force those allies to be less clear about support for Taiwan, and less inclined to conduct freedom of navigation exercises through the South China Sea
3) Ratchet up pressure on the Taiwanese population
4) Convince the Taiwanese population that no one is coming to rescue them if China decides to take Taiwan by force
5) Ideally have the Taiwanese vote for a China friendly government that would progress towards reunification

But the problem is that while the Chinese leadership have been conducting this plan, they have also been cracking down in Hong Kong and the mainland against many, many minorities that pose a material or philosophical threat to the CCP. These have included a wide spectrum from Hong Kong independence campaigners, to billionaires and entertainers on the mainland. Those crackdowns have made people in Taiwan very much disinclined to move towards peaceful reunification.

It is also like the CCP is so big (or perhaps dysfunctional) that the left hand does not know (or perhaps care) what the right hand is doing.........

The risk posed by the above is that peaceful reunification of Taiwan with the mainland is becoming less, rather than more likely and the CCP will lose face if they are seen to back down on the Taiwan issue.

That makes hot war, peer on peer conflict quite likely.
