We did some work on a service truck for the mason we will eventually have work on our retirement home. Hubby was talking to him about what we were after. He told hubby "Your wife has expensive taste." I had to correct them both and clarify that I have very good taste :) I like quality which usually translates to higher cost than your local made in China prices. Luckily, we are planning on a rather small home so that should at least help offset a portion of the cost. Anyhoo - when I arrived at work yesterday, hubby had set this on my desk. He's such a sweetie. I am aware that I have a huge learning curve here - weighing the strength of solid stone w/ the R-factor of having rigid insulation between two layers of stone. Either way, we are looking at fireproof walls approximately 16" thick. Lots more than just the floor plan to think about.
