A strange poem by Jim Morrison from the Strange Days album.
"Horse Latitudes"

When the still sea conspires an armor
And her sullen and aborted Currents breed tiny monsters
True sailing is dead
Awkward instant And the first animal is jettisoned
Legs furiously pumping Their stiff green gallop
And heads bob up
Poise
Delicate
Pause
Consent
In mute nostril agony
Carefully refined
And sealed over

Really.
And you asked me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
'Cause I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And designer love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
So take these words and sing out loud
'Cause everyone is forgiven now
'Cause tonight's the night the world begins again
I need some place simple where we could live
And something only you can give
And that's faith and trust and peace while we're alive
And the one poor child who saved this world
And there's ten million more who probably could
If we all just stopped and said a prayer for them
So take these words and sing out loud
'Cause everyone is forgiven now
'Cause tonight's the night the world begins again
I wish everyone was loved tonight
And somehow stop this endless fight
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
So take these words and sing out loud
'Cause everyone is forgiven now
'Cause tonight's the night the world begins again
'Cause tonight's the night the world begins again

C'est la vie
Have your leaves all turned to brown
Will you scatter them around you
C'est la vie
Do you love
And then how am I to know
If you don't let your love show for me
C'est la vie
In the night
Do you light a lover's fire
Do the ashes of desire for you remain
Like the sea
There's a love too deep to show
Took a storm before my love flowed for you
C'est la vie
Like a song
Out of tune and out of time
All I needed was a rhyme for you
C'est la vie
Do you give
Do you live from day to day
Is there no song I can play for you
C'est la vie

Yes, those were the days when a 17 year old could date a 21 y.o. and no one minded.

I got married at 17 to a 18 Y.O. I think that was better than just living with him or even if he ended up being a jerk.
A 17 year old is physically fully matured. Some states you could marry at 14.

Questions about who rules and has power. If not us who ,China,Russia, etc, etc, etc,? I say out of the rest or us it is better us, hope I'm right. Not that it matters of course what me or any of us think anyway.
But the world seems to be serving the wrong ' somebody' far as how vile it keeps getting.

Impossible Germany
Unlikely Japan
Wherever you go
Wherever you land
I'll say what this means to me
I'll do what I can
Impossible Germany
Unlikely Japan
Fundamental problem
All need to face
This is important
But I know you're not listening
No, I know you're not listening
This was still new to me
I wouldn't understand
Impossible Germany
Unlikely Japan
This is what love is for
To be out of place
Gorgeous and alone
Face to face
With no larger problems
That need to be erased
Nothing more important
Than to know someone's listening
Now, I know you'll be listening

Days of sad and bad news.

Antidote for those days,

at this point, most of these songs have nothing to do with The Band or Dixie. I'm sorry/not sorry, I know it's Christmas time, but maybe I personally am a little weary of Christmas music. I love Christmas, but I listen or sing to Christmas music any time I want.
This thread is dead sometimes, so here's a zombie song.

@Amish Heart you asked for this. Eagles videos don't stay long, not sure why, copyrights maybe.

There are stars
In the Southern sky
Southward as you go
There is moonlight
And moss in the trees
Down the Seven Bridges Road
Now I have loved you like a baby
Like some lonesome child
And I have loved you in a tame way
And I have loved you wild
Sometimes there's a part of me
Has to turn from here and go
Running like a child from these warm stars
Down the Seven Bridges Road
There are stars in the Southern sky
And if ever you decide
You should go
There is a taste of time sweetened honey
Down the Seven Bridges Road
