The Ying and the Yang
Chapter One
She had long red straight haired, green eyed with skin so white it was almost translucent. No record of her parents. She had been routinely passed from one Foster Care family to another. In her file it was noted something noticeable was “off” about her, probably a mental deficiency.
He had black curly hair cut short, brown eyes with blacker then black skin. His mother was a drug addict whore whose whereabouts where only known when she was in jail. He lived with his grandmother along with his six older siblings in government provided housing. The odds of him living beyond puberty were not in his favor.
Just another new student starting the school term late with failing grades. She was just a number on a Federal form for school funding and was “graduated” to the next class, to the next school, to the next…
Somewhere in his young life he had made the decision. His sisters grew up to be prostitutes and his brothers gang members or drug dealers. He was NOT going to be like them. His mechanical alarm clock would wake him in the mornings. He read everything he could lay his hands on starting with the newspapers and magazines he found at the bus stop and graduating to the school library.
