I purchased a car battery from Batteries and Bulbs about a year and a half ago. I paid way too much but was okay with that at the time as I thought I was getting a quality product. When I went in to replace it under warranty my claim was denied because the battery was dead. I pointed out that if it wasn't dead that I wouldn't be bringing it in.

That is the last item that I will ever purchase from that company at any location.

We buy cheap batteries now for same reason.
Except for solar and golf cart, we still buy Trojan only for those.

Its a 150 mile round trip but it is worth it for us to get the Trojans. Had them in golf cart for 13 years till we changed them. A couple years ago bought 6 more and still no problems.

20 years ago I bought a battery from a local place, had some issues about 10 months later and they replaced it for free (labor included). Only place I have bought a battery from since then. I have never heard of Batteries & Bulbs but if one shows up around me I will be sure to avoid it.

My dealer is about an hour drive from me but when I called and asked about prices he had a truck going to Fairbanks the next day. As my home is about 5 or 10 minutes off the highway he'd deliver for free if I could put them on that truck. He cut me a price on 16 batteries with free delivery so I went with it. I got my solar panels from the same place and I'm pleased with their service.

Battery+bulbs saved me a bunch of money.
My wife dropped her iPhone and broke the screen.
Apple wanted $300 to replace the screen out of warranty.
    A new iPhone was $750.
Battery+bulbs replaced the screen for $75.
I buy car batteries from Costco.
Good prices and they stand behind their products.
Caribou I would go to a higher authority than just a store salesman.
    Contact their corporate office.

Batteries can make you pull your hair out.
Some years back, I put two new batteries in my pickup.
No signs of failure or clues, one day they were just dead. They showed great voltage, but I don't think they had an amp between them.

I didn't pay attention when I bought them at wally's; they were only 2 year batteries.

I looked at the dates on the batteries, which were the same, and the batteries were exactly 2 years old to the month.

I swear batteries and lightbulbs are built right down to an exact science.
Almost like what appears to be in a lot of electronics these days; built in death timers.

Our local NAPA is a little spendy but their service and ability to stand behind their product have made me a repeat customer. It is a rural small town NAPA owned by the same man for near 50 years, always has a fresh pot of quality coffee and always willing to swap stories while you wait!

I'm glad that you had a good experience. My problem was not with their price but with the failure to support their warranty and the failure of the product. I paid the price for what should have been a quality product. I went to Costco and replaced it for about a quarter of the price. In fact I could have bought two batteries and a premium membership and paid less than I did for a battery that lasted less than a year and a half.

I would still be complaining up the ladder until someone from corporate fix my problem.
Leave them a scathing Yelp review might even get their attention.

The first thing I do when an order comes in wrong, I check my order placement. If i screwed up, then it is on me. If they screwed up, the order goes back. I did recently place an order for some AR mags. Part of the order came in grey, checked my order and yes, I screwed up. Hate when that happens.

When it comes to colors I seldom screw up and I check myself twice or more. They deceive you to get your oder then they do what they want. I told hubby they would not send white or red,for some reason those colors are never in stock for boats. I'm trying to lighten up the drab colors some and seat is white. :fun fun:

If I did not order, then it goes back. I want what I ordered, not some bait and switch. Meerkat, send it back, that is how they learn. Loose the sale and the cost of shipping.

I can take the cushion back to Walmart but the top cost $150 and he already is installing it. I was going to call them but they only have 'email'. I'll put a piece of fabric on the under side with bright white and maybe a little color. I got a white table clothe for the table at the store and colorful seat cushions.

Hubby just got in an order for some mags. Only got a partial order and an unexplained refund for the missing mags. No phone call or email explaining that they were out or couldn't send them. Just a text from my bank letting us know about a deposit.

    I have numerous addresses.
My PO box, which fed ex and UPS won't deliver to.
I have address at the restaurant, but no one's there to accept a pkg.
I've been having my stuff sent to a local business, but they have 3 or 4 depts, and packages get lost. I've even had them give my pkg to the wrong person, and me theirs. But that almost an hour each way.

I've tried to get drivers to deliver to my house, but the address is a situs/county address. It doesn't show up in their system.
Practically by it's own laws, UPS has to deliver to you if you have an address.
Drivers have tried to come here but somehow get lost.
Even though it's their job, they just don't want to do it, and on top of that, I really don't want unexpected traffic, and I have to work sometimes to keep it that way.
My dogs are rubber stupid, and I don't want them flat.

I have a friend who lives eve further from me, and has a business.
He mounted a box sort of next to the highway, and somehow convinced UPS to deliver to him there after giving them a key.
So about 2 weeks ago I emulated his gig, and bought a new Job box.

I painted it, numbered it, and cemented it to a slab standing up on its side, (So it looks more like a locker)

Phone call after phone call, I finally got them to agree to use it.

I got my first successful delivery yesterday.

One of the biggest problems is that many vendors on places like Amazon, is they don't clearly specify how they will ship your order.
Sometimes standard delivery means USPS, other times it means ground.

If a package gets addressed to my new outdoor box, and it's sent USPS, it will get sent back to the shipper.
Another problem is that not only do we have the post office, we also have a contracted mail carrier who will deliver to a mailbox placed beside the highway.
But the mail carrier, and USPS don't seem to talk, so neither knows squat about the other.
I'm going to try talking to the carrier, and see if they'll keep a key, and put mailed orders into my box.
So up until now, I have to be very careful to look at my confirmations, and quickly adjust them if possible.

This whole thing has been a nightmare for years, and I order lots of stuff online.

Well, here's to hoping I solved half of the problem.

My friend just leaves the box unlocked and after every delivery the driver just locks it.
It has worked out for him so far and he doesn't have to give out keys that will get lost.

At work we have a Post Office Box and we have a physical street address.

I place a order, chose UPS shipping and go on with life...until I realize I never received the order. UPS tracking number shows UPS handed my order off to the USPS for delivery and USPS return it because no Post Office Box in the ship to address!

Another order I selected USPS delivery and for some unknown reason it was shipped by FedEx. FedEx returned my order because they don't ship to PO Boxes!

I made an inquiry and learned the USPS reads addresses from the bottom up.

So now when I place a order I use:

    Name of Company
    ATTN: The Lazy L
    1234 Main Street
    P.O. Box 5678
    City, State & Zip

So far it has been working.

I have everything shipped to the post offices adress and have my box #on it.

    Terri9630
    9876 Iron RD box 123

That's what the lady at the post office told me to do. That way there is always someone to receive it and I don't have to figure out how it is being shipped.

I was buying Interstate batteries for the solar system in our motorhome, but when I went to get the batteries for our home solar backup the Interstate golf cart batteries had considerably increased their prices, so I ended up going to Costco, even with a core charge of $5 per battery they ended up being far less expensive than any place I checked on. The batteries were made by Johnson Control but Costco is now selling the same type of battery made by Interstate. Trojan batteries are noted for their quality and they do offer AGM types for people that don't want to deal with adding water. For really heavy duty deep cycle batteries Rolls Surrette makes some very high amp hour batteries and they are expensive. Since our system uses 20 six volt golf cart batteries, Costco was a good place to get them. I would have liked to have gotten all the batteries with the manufacture date being the same but since each bank is four batteries each in series I could split the buy into ten per buy and run two dated for one batch and two dated for another batch per bank, I know that sounds picky but who knows what variations could arise from different lots made a month or so apart? The only difference I found in the Costco batteries compared with the Interstate store batteries was that Costco batteries had 10 less Amphours per battery than the Interstate store battery, which to me was not worth the extra money spent.

I doubt that there would be a significant difference in new batteries, of the same model, but generally having all the batteries in one bank alike is the best.
