@The Lazy L That’s quite a job. So all finished up now right? You can flip a switch for light and push a button for door?

I still have to wire a 120 VAC outlet for the opener. Using a extension cord temporality for power. Yes flip a switch for lights and yes push a button (or use the remote) to open/close the door.

Past couple of days were productive. I may have mentioned I took my friend to get his new stove. Got it set up & got the backsplash in. I talked him in to replacing the fugly toggle switch with a rocker switch. Picked the colors & showed him a mockup from MS Paint where I pasted the black rocker switch with a stainless steel wallplate. Was under $5 for them. Brought my Dremel over with the intention of trimming some shims sticking out from under the cabinets, but the only blade I had was metal-cutting. I have a whole bunch of grinders, sanders, & other stuff, but nothing for straight up cutting wood. Like 50 attachments but not the right one. LOL. I'll have to see if they have wood-cutting blades for the Dremel in the store sometime.
I took him to the store to grab the rocker switch, wall plate, electrical wire, outlet box, screws, & a few other things. Forgot wire nuts & electrical tape. He had some in the house but it disappeared. I had some in my room as well but it also disappeared. Not sure WTHeck happened to it. Popped back home to go through my tool closet to get wire nuts & electrical tape. Found a 20yr old roll on a dispenser. Still good. Went back to friend's house & helped him get it in & get the sidesplash in & the corner cover up. Looks good.
Gonna work on stuff in my own house tomorrow (technically today).
Already swept up the hallway. I kept bumping into stuff & the broom hit the wall a few times & my Mom thought it was her dog doing something. She was shouting at him & I had to shout through the door "It's not the dog, it's me sweeping up crap in the hallway!" She apologized to Fippy.
My brother has been depressed the past couple of weeks & he finally told me why. 2 weeks ago he stopped getting his unemployment checks. He tried to contact them & finally heard back. They said that there was a mismatch in the system or something so he was being taken off of it. They also told him that they suspected fraud & that if they determined it was fraud they would take the $ back & he would not be eligible to apply again for 52 weeks. He's been on unemployment for 8 weeks (ever since the casino shut down). Nothing has changed (except the casino opened some stuff up but his restaurant hasn't re-opened & might not ever re-open). He's being furloughed. He's been trying to fight it to get them to start paying him again but they said it might take at least 21 days for anything.

Install power outlet for the shop door opener.
Run the garden hoses though the woods to wife's raised garden beds.
Weed Wack the property.
Start building the compost barrel she wants.
About 18 years ago we had a garden and a large hoop house about half a block from the house. We gto tired of having to go to it to take care of it. It did great far a growing but we moved it yo to the house and built another poly grenhouse, saved us all kinds of extra work.Of course not all can do that. Now all is right here at the house and so much easier to look after.

Daughter had a bad week, somebody stole their ID and took $1,200.00 cash plus charged things.Had to close all accounts, etc, etc, rtc,. not quite 2 yr old Tarzan keeps putting his hand in his pants to pee upward so he soaks himself, plus plays in the back of his diaper too.She can't believe the kid.:ghostly: . Kids born 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 one everytwo years are a hand full.

Plus she helps run their business and deals with teen ager who was threatened by gang to kill the whole family for selling nicontine vap in " their " territory and says he hates his dad for making them move 2 years ago. He had to move or deal with 2 sometimes 3 hours of traffic to and from Atalnta known for some of worst traffic in the nation .Gangs are spreading out into burbs now. Next court date is in July to see if daughter gets her kids back.

I need do some house work today clean out one ofthe hens pens, they free range all day and in pens at night.

Going to be running around and helping a friend for a few hours a day for awhile. Still walked this morning but no short video after. Ordered shoes yesterday on eBay for more walking! Pulled a package of baked turkey out of the freezer, but looks freezer burnt so I will probably pull out a turkey breast to bake if needed.

We try to eat the oldest frozen food first because of freezer burn.

Today I am working on my solar power system.
The battery box I built for my solar power system is on the south side of the house so it sits in the sun. Its not insulated and gets pretty warm inside. I installed a couple of louvered vents but I don't think that was enough so I decided to add a vent fan. I had a 12 volt fan from an old computer that I thought would work. I did not want it on all the time and I knew I would never remember to turn it on and off. I dug in my junk and found a small thermo snap switch. It was on at 110* that I thought was too high but I painted the sensor button black and the sun turns it on just fine. At night or when it is cloudy it will be off.
A small job that cost me nothing that should fix the problem.

Grandson brought his girlfriend over yesterday.
She's a sweet heart. He was all over the Vette..

So I let him take it and her for a ride. He's the only one I'd let .
Took it up town where he lives, showed all his buddies.
Even drag raced a buddy in his pu truck...laughed..said he blew him away.

Made my day. I practically raised him, he'll be 19 in Aug.

Today we are going to Sirloin Stockade for a late lunch.
Probably will wash the Vette..ITS BLACK.

Mixed Epsom salt and water , sprayed my tomatoes. Watered them with it also. They need tying up again.

I've never seen a fence like that. I thought those were used for climbing things... Silly me! 🤭

Figured out our happenings for the rest of the week. Tomorrow is another POD day, so prepared for it by dumping lettuce pots to the chickens, so they can go in there. Organizing all the chain link runs that we use for fowl, because those panels are going in first. Emptied out one small freezer to go, and crammed all that in to our chest freezer. Went to Sams with husband, and told him NOT to buy anything for the freezer. No room at all. Needed salsa and barbeque sauce, and they were out of both. They were heavily stocked on spices, rice, flour, sugar. Was shocked at their 10# chub of 80/20 hamburger....$6.18 a lb. Not even the organic kind. Just plain ol hamburger. Need to go to the post office, and get two rooms painted. Tomorrow is pod loading here, a pod unloading at the farm, Thursday is house scrubbing, and Friday the video guy comes out to film. We'll be at the hospital then, for husband to get an injection in his spine for back pain.

Our "local" store has hamburger at $8.60lb. That's why we bought the calves. We can butcher one this fall and the other next summer.

Yikes. Crazy prices. Good you got the cows.
We finished loading the pod late yesterday, because it arrived late. Then real estate lady called and is coming by today with the stager, so I've been a crazed cleaning lady. Done enough, now, and not caring. Video taping is tomorrow, and the for sale sign just went up. Had a robo call about a man hunt going on in our area, so kids are in. Curly haired man with no shirt. Didn't say what for. Then another robo call an hour later saying he is still at large, call 911 if you see him. Ha Ha.

I went to the post office to pick up mail & dropped by the DMV (they only allowed 2 customers in building at a time) & requested the form I needed for Mom to sign authorizing me to renew the registration on her vehicle so she wouldn't have to come in herself. They gave me 2 forms so I can have one for next time. Normally they aren't very polite at the DMV but they were friendly. I am always extra polite to them to counter the crabby attitudes & it seems to work. First time I ever saw one of the employees in there smile was when I brought my 89yr-old friend to renew his registration & they gave him a fee reduction for being so old. He cracked a joke about how if he lived long enough they'd be paying him. Crabby woman actually laughed. I miss that old man.
Mom's toaster arrived (old one broke). New one is much nicer. I have it unplugged & covered when not in use to keep a-hole cats from getting dirt/fur in it (they like to sit on toasters) & have it shoved back so they can't knock it off the counter. It has rubber feet so it grips the counter. Made mom toast & eggs. Was going to do over easy but I'm a monkey & broke the yolk. She got scrambled. I missed the toast when trying to put the eggs on top (just that kind of day for my coordination-- or lack thereof). Told Mom the yolk broke & handed her the plate. Next thing I know she's yelling at me "WHY ARE THEY SCRAMBLED!?" In my head I answered "bc this is not a f*ing 5 star restaurant & you didn't even say how you wanted your eggs" but I repeated more slowly "The yolk broke". She then calmed her tits & ate her toast & eggs.

Do you happen to have any threads on the solar panel installation stuff? I'm interested in going solar bc I'm sick of my power company having outages & charging up the wazoo. I have an entire shed that could be devoted to batteries & generators & can put panels on my roof & out in the yard. Backside of my house faces south. Also planning to get solar panel set up to power the front gate (once I get gate opener put on it).

The stager and the real estate agent came by today and we moved a few things around. Video guy and drone photographer tomorrow. It is crazy trying to keep this house very clean with 6 in it. So, they film tomorrow, the husband gets a shot in his spine. A for sale sign was put up. Looking forward to end of day tomorrow. 11 babies hatched. Cute fluffer butts.

Between coats of primer, I'm building another powder magazine. I don't have enough to fill it but I'll be ordering some soon.
The home just keeps looking like it needs a paint job...

Except for painting it black, I've finished the wife's compost barrel.

I mounted the door hardware BEFORE cutting out the door. Made it easier than trying to hold the door in place while measuring.

Pipe I used for the axle was an overkill but it was laying in my scrap pile. 4 x 4 posts were reclaimed from the old foot bridge over the back drainage ditch.

Hardward is held in place by screws. I'm guessing they might need to be replaced with nuts & bolts. I might have to install handles to help the wife in rotating the barrel.

How to YouTubes stress ventilation and keeping the contents dry. So I drill holes in the ends and bottom. I can always drill more if needed. The latch end of the door I cut at a 45 degree angle to keep the door from flopping in plus a wood backing.

Gave the barrel a good washing this morning. As soon as it dries it will be painted black.
