Haven't been online much, hope everyone is doing ok. The weather here has been absolutely horrible.
I need to figure out how to change my password on here so I can use my new computer to log in.....
Had some unexpected early goat kids, but they are doing well. Will be very busy soon, kids and lambs are going to start arriving. I started some seeds for the garden indoors ( have snow on ground again, not sure when this winter will ever end)

Strawberry is snoozing on my lap.
I'm sipping coffee.
Maintanace Man has been in to check stove out.
I think it came over on the Ark.
New stove is supposed to be here by Thursday.
We'll see.
Stove I got now throws a breaker every time, I try to use more than 2 burners at the same time.
Let alone a burner and the oven.
Foggy as heck here this morning.
Will have to go to Wal*Mart when son brings car back.
Out of trash bags, melted my kitchen trash can with deceased, raw, chicken last night.
Oh, well have to pick up few fresh items anyway.
Next week need to go to Aldi for few things.
Pick up paperwork for elderly veteran to get enrolled into the VA system.

@Firepolice271 and I started putting the walls i but first @ThePrincess stopped in to evaluate the progress and offer her opinion on the floor plan.

We moved the location for the door to the second bedroom to make better use of floor space. The door to the master bedroom also was moved to allow us to put in handicap accessible doors in every room. It looked like this when we were done today.

Standing in what will be the closet of the master bedroom looking toward the front of the house.

The room nearest to the front of the house (background in the image above) is the common bathroom. The room nearer the foreground is the master bath.

The small changes to the door locations will give us long sections of walls to allow for couches and large screen televisions.

One more note...

As my brother was installing the studs for the wall and up in the ceiling;

"You know a place is old when it was plumbed for gas lighting."

Looking great, Ben!

I slept til after 1pm.
Went to the store to get groceries.
Gave mom salad.
Dissected rotisserie chicken.
Took vitamins.
Reasearching Cycle Stop Valve plumbing layouts for jet pumps and pressure tanks.
Got a mild headache & shoulder hurts so I've got a heating pad on it. About to nap.

Did some house cleanup, and went to the local Amish store...strawberries came in, and soooo many people were coming in to get them. Got two flats to make freezer jam with. Dropped off grandson to the High School bonfire and taco eating contest. It was spirit week/homecoming at the High School, Friday was drive your tractor to school day, and a student drove a combine. Ha. Picked up mom from the Manor, and some takeout pizzas and brought her over this evening. My skin hurts on my back, and I've got a rash. Think maybe shingles? Has anyone had them?

Thanks. I don't feel screaming bad. But I did just take some tylenol. I've heard so many horror stories about it, I'm not sure what to expect...does it get worse than this? Mostly my skin hurts on one side.
Planning on working on strawberry freezer jam, and we're meeting little granddaughter's mom at the park for a couple of hours for a visitation. She is complaining about only a couple of hours, but I can't stand sitting around keeping an eye on her for longer than that, so I told her oh well. There is a skate park there, so grandson brings a skateboard with him.

Strawberry is sprawled on my lap sleeping.
She's about to get grumpy.
Need refill of coffee which makes me grumpy.
Dishes are on the agenda for the day.
Wal*Mart for fresh items, trash can, trash bags etc.
My kitchen trash can has sprung a leak.
When stuff dies it just dies all over the place in my place.

On Friday, a friend gave me so many clothes that she had outgrown, in my size! 1 huge box, 2 big boxes and a huge beach bag full! Will be going through them this week. All nice clothes and lots of flannel pjs and sweaters! Looking forward to doing this!

Yesterday another friend who recently harvested some deer gave me a few pounds of deer sausage and some ground venison!

Our cast iron propane burner set is here and our tank is supposed to get here Tuesday. Not going to get caught again with no type of heat at all!

Today, already made Jello.
Feed dogs.
Do video.
Church.
Order Amtrak tickets for June. Yay!
Move the little freezer into the house now that the top is sanded and painted.
Maybe lady's group later?
Check out switching internet company. It's getting ridiculous!

Dishes are done.
Cabinets,doors, refrig all scrubbed down.
Scrubbed the microwave too.
It will probably be the next thing that dies.
Made grocery order will pick it up at 4.
Put the new spongebar into knitting machine.
Drinking an old fashion........
MUG's Root Beer.
Strawberry seems to think she needs to go back outside again, again, again.........
Strawberry has been walked by the dog walker.
My niece that lives in Texas just texted me.
Seems if I'm making "Super Hero capes" for Halloween.
Could I send her a few too.
We seem to be having a communication problem.
I didn't realize I was making "Super Hero" capes for Halloween.
Yep, grand daughter Estelle has struck again.
Might make "Super Hero" capes for her little cousins scatter around the USA.
But not making "Princess" dresses.
Warrior queen outfits maybe, but no fufu Princess dresses.

Been a rough morning/afternoon...

Computer took a dump and wouldn't boot up. Pretty sure it's an internal hardware issue, maybe the Power Supply. I'll have to take it to my IT Guru to diagnose.

Fortunately have a second computer (my actual work PC I brought home for work).
Been using the crashed one as my main work PC for the last year, so I had a lot of work on the local hard drive that wasn't on the network due to inconsistent network connections over the VPN. I upload to the VPN when I remember, but it's been about 3 weeks since my last upload.

Spent the morning recovering my project folders from the crashed PC hard drive to move to my work PC, but back up and running now.

Going to keep my work stuff on a detachable drive for better recovery in the future, if necessary.

Hope everyone else's day has been less stressful...

I took all the old tomato vines off the trellis and cleaned some in the garden area. I'm not having a big garden this year. Too much stuff is wasted and I can't even give it away. Last few years I picked it and put it on a table by the road with a free sign and a week later I fed it to the neighbor's goats.
I cleaned and oiled my propane griddle and I'm cooking burgers outside for Supper. I might change my mind and put them on the pellet grill.
I started my tractor for the first time since November. I kept a battery tender on it and she fired up the first try. I sold an old air compressor tank and motor so I needed the tractor to load it in the guy's pickup.
While it was running I attached my brush hog and mowed a couple of strips around a big weed field so I can burn it off without it getting to the neighbors land. I am going to have a lot of burning to do this spring.

I ain't did squat today...😂

Actually, I slept in a bit, debated on going to church and decided not to because of the virus risk. Our town is ripe for another outbreak.

Made scrambled eggs and french toast for my daughter, played board games, took cardboard to the recycling bin uptown, went for a walk, made a hamburger helper type meal for supper, and now watching a TV marathon about American conspiracy theories.

Debating on going to the gym. I'm nursing another pulled hamstring so I don't think it's going to happen...

Yesterday and today have been gorgeous. Almost 50*. We had some pallet-like crates from work that some materials came in. I brought them home and stained/sealed them (on the outside) and got them situated. Placed cardboard in the bottom then vinyl screen and stapled that in so the voles can’t get in. I need to call the dump tomorrow to see if they have compost so I can fill them. They are not super deep, maybe 14” but should be good for tatters and herbs etc. Voles are on
Headed up to the mountain house this morning to take care of a few things- still better than a foot of snow in the drive. Got home and I cleaned up some things outside and have quite the burn pile going. Too windy to burn today.
I’m making a wool cloak - should be warm. Not sure where I’ll wear it but the wool is beautiful (solid red) and was given to me. So I stitched on that for a little bit.
Now I need to darn a sock. 😜

I have never had shingles and have no idea what all the possibilities are. I hope it passes soon.

So far my skin hurts on my back, that sounds weird, but it does. I have two small patches, so nothing horrible like what I've seen on the internet. We have a Christian sharing type of insurance, so I can do telemedicine tomorrow if I want to. It's bearable when I take tylenol. Talked to our youngest this evening, and she recommends an antivirol for it, otherwise it just passes. I worry about side effects, but she said it's just crystalized urine if you don't drink enough liquids. We'll see. Survived granddaughter's visit with her mom and the boyfriend. We met at the park in the bigger town. They are living in a broken down van, and are quite a mess, but they've lived homeless for so long, they don't care. Then went and bought a parrot cage we saw on local marketplace, and it looks like it'll work well for our African Grey to enjoy some porch time this spring and summer. Then on to Tractor Supply for feed and other stuff. Our neighbors sheep all took off and crossed the road right when we were coming home. Over 100 of them decided to cross the road and see what was growing in the other field (winter wheat). The neighbor drove his tractor on over behind them and yelled, "go". And they went. Except one stubborn one had to be told three times. The babies are adorable.

Brass order was delivered today.
Sort and inspect brass.
Start wet tumbling (clean) batches of brass. Takes 2 hours per batch.
Spent time between brass batches listening to HF, UHF and VHF and making a few contacts. Confirms our equipment is still operational.
Set up tables and carry up chairs for wife's hen party this evening.

Yesterday I slept in & felt much better afterward. Body wasn't as sore. Made some burritos for Mom and went to the grocery store again in the hopes they got more stuff in stock. Brother tagged along and picked out meat. Store was still out of a lot of stuff. Got home, put groceries away, watched a little TV, broke up some cat fights, researched plumbing stuff, & then my brother cooked some of the meat for me-- but he forgot to turn the cooktop off when he was done. I smelled something burning, ran into the kitchen- cats had turned it on max sear. That's about the 3rd time he's forgotten to turn it off. Pan is ruined-- all warped and blackened. He claimed it wasn't that bad and could be cleaned. I said "You're not the one that cleans the pans so you wouldn't know!"

Upside is, best friend made a little $ buying and selling GameStop stock.

Looks like it's about to rain.

AmishHeart, I hope whatever you have-- the rash thing-- goes away soon. I wonder if shea butter moisturizer would help... It's antifungal, although it doesn't sound fungal.

Here we go.
Stop and collect rent.
Go to big town , to see the kidney specialist to see how much longer I got.😉

Then to rural king for cat food, softener salt , driveway reflectors , that got wiped out from last snow plowing,
Need new blades for utility knife.
Who knows what else I'll end up buying.

Then late lunch somewhere.
It won't be Texas Roadhouse .5 of last sirloin steaks were so tough , I started bringing my hacksaw.

Y'all have a prosperous , happy day.

Jim

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Made coffee this morning, looked a little weak.
Yep, forgot to put coffee in the filter.
Had to restart that .
Strawberry has been outside this morning.
Just doing odds and ends today.
Found basket of laundry that hadn't been folded and put away.
Had all of Estelle's baby dolls in it.
They were covered up with one of clean hand towels(dish towel).
Put her babies back in their beds.
Folded the laundry and put it away.
Still playing with the knitting machine.
Trying to get the back of Strawberry's sweater done.
Will have to figure out new spot for knitting machine.
Some little person was upset that it was where her dinner chair goes at Granny's table.
Crocheting on Strawberry's new kennel blanket.
Estelle picked out the color.
And no it's not Orange, but it is her second favorite color.
Lime Green at least it's not neon this time.
Have walked once already this morning.
When Strawberry goes outside in a bit will walk again.
Amish Heart, hope you get to feeling better.
Good Luck Jim, with the Kidney doctor.

Everybody needs a day like that.

Nah, not supposed to put anything on shingles blisters. I only have two spots. I'll live. Childbirth was worse.
Met with our builder a little bit ago. He's waiting on the electrician and the plumber. He needs to build a deck out the add on and a ramp, doorknobs still, and closet rods, finish up baseboards, put the door in that goes from the existing room to the add on. Right now there's a window and I can crawl through. Ha. Going to visit my cousin this afternoon, and pick up little granddaughter from school. Husband has pulmonary rehab, and the twins have sports physicals after school. I am still working through a flat of strawberries, and dry canning lots of beans.
