Well, well, "Peter", a community cat made an appearance after a couple weeks, snoozing in one of the BNB shelters. It is 19 degrees, at least he has a chance to get warm :)

I'll put "breakfast" out at 6

It makes me happy to see you are taking care of strays like that. I know I've said it before, but it still warms my heart.
Pollen. That is the color of my car! I need to wash it, but no point right now.
Ditto on my truck. Was going to take it through the car wash but it was too cold and taking it through the wash when it was too cold is what messed up the paint last time.

Sonya, I'm glad you were able to pull the babies out. Hope the 3rd one will be OK.

It was 34°F when I headed out for a curbside pickup order this morning. They were out of stock on one of the items I really wanted. Have to go back in later for an appointment so I might as well look inside the store to see if they got the stuff back in and pick up RX. Got some medicated dog shampoo and need to give the chiweenie a bath. We got rid of the fleas but his skin is flaking and he keeps scratching. Looks like dandruff. I combed his fur and got rid of a lot of the skin flakes yesterday.

I measured and marked screw locations for when I put up cementboard. Lined the tub with plastic and used painter's tape to hold it on. Wrote screw locations on the tape to make it easier for when its cementboard time. Will make a backup cheat sheet with the measurement notations just in case. Don't want to run any of the cementboard screws through the other screws. Also marked voids where screws will miss so I know where not to drive screws. I'd put the plastic up on the walls but left arm isn't cooperating. Friend has a bad toothache and won't be able to help until he gets it taken care of. Going to see if I can get my brother to help me lift one of the cementboards into the tub so I can put some aquadefense on the edges.

Currently resting with kitties and the dog on me. Poor little dog was too tired to get up this morning when I was trying to get out of bed. Normally he moves out of my way but he rolled on his back instead. I know that feeling. LOL.

What am I doing today? Making sure I’m not standing on any “X” on the floors or ground!

Wife and I are recovering from the Crud. Friend a year younger then I died. Two days later cousin 4 years younger died. MIL fell, spent 4 days in hospital and now in rehab. Getting down right dangerous out there.

I'm very sorry to hear that. Glad you MIL survived the fall and hope she has a swift recovery.

Don't! Go! Anywhere!
I am sorry for those you've lost. You two get yourselves well.

We have high winds today which is making it not fun to be outside. I seeded more vegetables inside the house. Got the smaller greenhouse cleaned out today, it was a mess. Looks like grandson had set up a chair in there to sit and do some drugs. I almost feel like he marked his territory in a place that is solely mine, so I was not happy. No word from child services yet about them being able to move. Talked to mom but she already forgot I was there with her yesterday. Filled the freeze dryer up with sour cream.

Caught up on sleep again, so it should be a good Monday. Borrowed the neighbors tractor for a while and will do maintenance on it in return for the use. Any idea how difficult it is to get parts for 10 year old Kubota? Napa is the only part store in the area that has anything and they only stock 1 of each item and the spin on filters for the hydraulics/transmission uses 2 spin on filters. I bought one from the small town north of here and then went further north to the next smaller town hoping the tractor dealership would have one, no dice. Came home and checked the Napa store in the bigger town and they do not have one in stock so called the first store to order one and I will have to pick it up tomorrow. So, since I made sure the new one was the correct part I have they system draining and will let it drip all night.
Since I was up there I stopped back in at the cabinet shop to talk to the owner some more. I told him I was not pressuring him but after thinking about our last conversation all weekend I wanted to let him know I would rather see him keep the business going to pass it on to his kids instead of closing it down. It was another good conversation and because I am not in a hurry it may be a month or two for him to decide what he wants to do, which is OK with me.
My GF is and will be nonstop busy this week prepping for her daughters wedding on Saturday. I am trying my best to stay out of the way, I did offer some help over the weekend but she said she had it handled so out to the garage I went.
I have another hour until heading off to work so I guess i will grab some food, dang I should have hit the burger shop when I was in town.

INResponse, I'm glad you caught up on sleep. Kubota tractors are very common out here but I'm not sure if they have parts stores for them anymore in this area. I wonder if they have an online store-- but you'd have to wait for shipping and stuff.

I went for my appointment and arrived a few minutes early. They put me in a windowless room with fluorescent lights that would go dim and then brighter and every once in awhile they would start flickering. It was messing with my eyes. After 15 minutes it started to give me a headache. I decided to close my eyes and listen to some music from my phone. About 5min later someone poked their head in and snapped at me to cut the music off. So, I did and then sat there and my headache got worse. 35min after my appointment time I was having a full on migraine. I managed to last another 10min and felt like I was going to hurl so I got up and left. I told the clerk the flickering light in the room was giving me a migraine and I would reschedule my appointment. I had too much of a headache to think clearly enough to pick a date so she said I could call back with a date later. I'm going to have to ask for a room with a window next time. I still had the headache when I went to Walmart to pick up my RX. My theory about medicine prices was right though. For 50 pills they wanted over $200. For 60 pills with the Singlecare discount it was $13.50. The 50 amount didn't trigger the discount. I'll have tell my doctor it worked. Just ate some rotisserie chicken and am about to take a nap. Still got a mild headache but not nearly as bad as in the doctor's office.

Be sure to drink plenty of water (yep, mana bear is at it again) 😊

@sonya123 I've pulled lots of calves. It always seems I'm going to hurt them but I never do. Hurt her insides? With cattle... Rarely, very rarely a uterine prolapse birth will occur. Basically the uterus will detach then turn inside out like taking off a sock. It's not a pretty sight.
No prolapse , she seems to be ok. I gave her a shot of LA200 and some meloxicam
We have had a few sheep with vaginal prolapse before birth ( too fat) but I just put a harness on them and they did ok

the little girl seems to be doing better also. We tube fed her (I did learn how to do this and have done it a few times) and she was better after that. Hope she is still alive tomorrow but it's not as cold as it was

I would have so totally done the same thing! It's stressful enough to have to go to the doctor and sit there and wait, but when something else on top of it is added, it's too much! I would have gotten a migraine ( bright lights tend to do that to me sometimes also) AND a panic attack and would have been out of there too.....hope you feel better !!

Thanks, Ladylocust and Sonya. I drank water as soon as I got out to the truck (I keep some bottled water in there). I took a nap and feel much better now. I normally am more patient. The last time I walked out without being seen was over 20 years ago when I was at the chiropractor. Two hours past my appointment time I had to get to classes. I got an apology from the clerk- he had an emergency case apparently and the next time I went he personally apologized. I understood and was cool with it. I think 4 or 5 hours is the longest I've waited past appointment time in the past. But I wasn't getting a migraine from the lights in the room.

I gave my friend the phone number for the dentist and I'll be taking him tomorrow. They probably can't pull the tooth tomorrow but can at least do some x-rays and figure out if Dr. Honey can pull it or if he needs to see a specialist that does dental surgery. Sometimes the roots are too difficult to get out without surgery. I dropped off some Aleve softgels for him before I went home. I'm going to try to get some sleep tonight so I will be better rested in the morning.

I'm glad the mother is doing better and there was no prolapse. Hope the little one makes it. I remember when one of my goats had triplets. She was a solid black goat-- so adorable and sweet. She had 2 black kids and a gray one. She pushed the gray one away so I had to bottle feed her. I have vague memories of her in the kitchen running around and then having her sit on my lap and cuddle. That was over 30 years ago so I don't remember what happened to her.

Got my bucket of honey jarred- 24 jars, and a 1 litre container because I ran out of jars. The only ones I have left I freeze garlic in and I keep them especially for that. Felt a little unwell the last few days, stomach is off and woke with a headache, must be a bug, I've no mojo. But have dinner ready to go, washing done and all the animals are fed, so one class and then I might curl up with a book. Daughter no1 is off to London for a few days, daughter no 2 not home from college for two weeks, so just me and my merry men :D Did I tell you I had a small article appear in a book on Irish lace? Wrote it as a favour for a lady during covid and forgot all about it - she got the book finished and sent me a copy. Delighted.

Hope you feel better and perky soon! Congratulations on the article, what a nice surprise!

Decent night at work. Came home and did a bit of work on the neighbors tractor I am borrowing, the work is my repayment for him letting me use it. It has taken HOURS to sort through Kubota's online manual and cross reference part numbers for filters from multiple manufacturers/suppliers. Finally I found something that mentioned Baldwin Filters so I went to Baldwin's site and found their list for their parts for this tractor. I am good with Baldwin parts but I was hoping to get them sooner, and I already had the oil filter and one of the two different hydraulic filters so I had to figure out which one I had and which one I needed. Eventually took measurements on the one I had and printed data sheets from Baldwin and narrowed it down, then used their part number to cross reference to Napa. I will call Napa tomorrow/today and see if they can get the part I need (it isn't available on this particular local stores website) and if they can get it great because I want to support small town local mom & pop stores. If not I will order it online and get it in a few days.
Ugh.
Anyways, about to take the kiddo to the bus stop then off to bed for me. I didn't realize it was this late/early.

Rain is in the forecast for the rest of the week. Today is the dreaded "Tax Day". We have our taxes prepared, and this is the day. Fingers crossed we don't have a huge bill.

And the book is??? Would love to see - Irish are superior in the field of traditional fiber arts.

Nearly finished cleaning up the stuff from the summer kitchen. They were supposed to finish today but doesn’t look like they showed up. I’m ready to be finished with the mess. A couple pix as a sampling of what I’ve been cleaning 😕

I wouldn't touch it until I could heat the room to dry it out. Then I'd use a leaf blower on it! Another fan pointed out... Does a good job on my shop. :)

Hmmmm, well I already posted the road and weather report for our community Nextdoor page. Basically said it is snowing and windy but the ground is warm and wet and weather radar claims it will be past us soon so I basically didn't know what they should expect. I also added to look out the window and figure out when it gets close to your go to town time.
I ordered the correct part yesterday for the neighbors tractor I am doing maintenance on, that was a fiasco trying to figure out the correct parts based on their lame owners manual and trying to cross reference from an obscure parts supplier and then through Baldwin and then over to NAPA. Part should be here in a day or two. But for now the tractor is in my garage drained of hydraulic fluid because I had to take off the old filters to figure out what the new filters should be. Apparently Kubota installed the engine and filters and then painted the frame and engine so it was impossible to get part numbers off the original filters.
If I do anything today, after sleeping, it will be changing the oil and oil filter in the tractor, but that will have to be done cold since I can't start it with the hydraulic system drained. Oh well, it ain't mine. Ha, kidding, it wont be ideal but it wont hurt anything, it will just take a bit longer for the oil to drain out the bottom of the oil pan and maybe a bit of dirty-ish oil will be left behind. The neighbor doesn't do much for maintenance so it will still be a major improvement.
Rain and snow and weather for the next few days but they claim Saturday will be sort of decent so hopefully the one kids wedding day is a sloppy, rainy mess. It will be in town so no worries of snow.
Sweet dreams, and Have a great day.
