Last year I bought the box set of the "Soprano's" and the series "Breaking Bad". I like both, started watching them a 2nd time a few weeks ago. I really liked Longmire, was bummed when they canceled the show. Oh, I also got the box set of "My name is Earl". It's funny as heck, haven't finished watching it.

I have watched "Breaking Bad," twice. I liked it and if I owned the series, I might watch it a few more times. I do this with some movies and series.

When my daughter was young, we got a VCR and the movie "E.T." She watched that movie every day for one month. Then I bought her another movie, "Sound of Music." She watched it everyday for a full month, and watched "E.T." a few times as well. This began to be a pattern for her, getting a new movie and watching it everyday until I got her a new movie. She had a lot of movies after a few years of this, all watched many times.

Midsummer Murders, father Brown Mysteries, Call the Midwife ... all on NetFlix, watched over the past year. I haven’t finished the last season of Longmire yet, my wife isn’t a fan, so I do t watch it if she is around

I watched 9 deer wander by the house this morning. Otie, our Blue Heeler, picked up his soccer ball and sat down and watched them! He wanted them to play with him! I put my britches on and went out to play with him.

Jerocho

And we laughed like crazy watching the first 3 episodes of " Schitts Creek " ,after that ok but not as funny.

I only had cable for a little while, and I noticed that what I could watch was little more than what I could watch over the air. It wasn't worth it to me at $60 + each month.

If you liked Longmire try Justified. We are currently watching season 6 of Homeland. I haven't run out of free movies yet on Amazon Prime, I can always find something of interest there.

I did like Longmire. It reminded me of my hometown and all the cowboys and Indians I grew up with and the beliefs and attitudes.

I will give Justified a try.

I watched 1 episode of Breaking Bad!:eyeballs:

Y;all that show is not good for your mind or soul. I hardly got through 1 1/2 episodes of it. And that was skipping some.

Be careful what you let into your minds. The sick pieces of work in Hollyhood are not our friends, they will give us a little ok so they can push a lot of really bad evil crap.

:good luck:

What used to not be allowed anywhere is now daily viewing. Remember when a married couple on a television show had to sleep in separate beds? And if they were on the same bed, one foot had to be on the floor?

I remember a couple different ratings for movies. I was only allowed to watch the cleanest of clean movies--no sex, no "bad" language, no violence. Maybe Bambi was rated that clean?

I think that if we wanted to keep our minds protected, we wouldn't watch much if anything.

I do remember how it use to be. And I know it is getting to the point that the choices are getting less and less.
I too have noticed Ive been desensitized a lot compared to what I use to couldn't watch because it bothered me too much.
But Some things still bother me and I don't want o be anymore liberal [ for a better word ] than I already am.

Just saying there are limits to not allowing them to pull us in any deeper than we already are to where we lose who we are or were.

Anything! I watch Netflix from my daughter's account, but there are several options: over the air, Hulu, Amazon Prime. Sharing the options that might work for any of us is great to share as well!

Sorry Weedy! Wrong name! Anyway, we kind of like "Frontier" and "Godless" on netflix was great! Both good western series'es?! ON network tv, I love "The Last Ship". We are watching "Episodes" now on netflix and it is good too, a comedy!

I liked the Netflix series Mindhunter, Ozarks and Unibomber. I also enjoyed Longmire. Other shows I have watched on Netflix include Person of Interest and a few different shows about vikings, Danes and knights. I am also kind of a trekky so I have seen all of the series (Next Generation, DS9, Voyager, etc.) a few times. I have even watched the new one Discovery, but it's pretty dark for a Star Trek series.

I thought Breaking Bad was awful. Never made it passed the first few episodes.

I have a hard time with movies that have you sitting on the edge of your seat, such as "Hurt Locker." I walked out before it was over.

Movies where cars or there are scenes where people are chasing and chasing on and on are movies I do not like to watch.

I also have a few shows that I enjoyed watching:
Anne of Green Gables
Downton Abbey
Sense and Sensibility
Jane Eyre

I LOVED Longmire! Only watched the first three seasons, then it went off. I'd heard they were doing a fourth season via Netflix - I'll have to look into that, just never get around to it...
I haven't seen that one yet, will check it out.

I just hope I don't have to have two dose's of Highway To Heaven afterwards, LOL. We still watch re-runs on Netflix since we forgot most of the 1980s shows. One of the few good things about losing some memory.

Here is a bundle for the first five seasons. Season 6 is also available on Amazon but I didn't see it in a bundle.

I went to see "Marathon Man" when it was just out. As we left I looked at the line going down the block of the people waiting to see the next showing. The look of horror on their faces was confusing until I looked around and saw all the numb expressions on our faces. It was a good movie but somehow a copy of it wound up in my DVD library and has never been unwrapped.

Oh yes those chase scenes get fast forwarded quick. I walked out of 300 . A real bloodbath of a movie about Spartans I think? Plus the sound was beating on my heart so loud it hurt my chest.
