I didn't realize what the Methodist church was going through, and it looks like there is a split going on, relative to all the LGBTQ stuff. It is interesting to me that churches are so torn about this. I believe the bible is pretty clear about certain things.
Yes, this isn't the thread for it, but in a nutshell, a radical wing of the church wants to allow same sex marriage, openly homosexual pastors and lay people. Unfortunately, our church got stuck with a married couple of pastors from Topeka. They are very much on board with this extreme anti-doctrine agenda and sadly, there are several people in our church that support them. I am not one of them. Not that I am anti-gay. I am hate the sin, love the sinner. That means we love the person, but we don't openly encourage their sin. I wonder what the congregations would say if we replaced homosexual with pedophile. Would they still support it? All sin is equal in God's eyes, but I wonder if these people in the church understand that.

I remember when we used to go to church ( LCMS Lutheran) they argued at one time if they should allow women pastors and women ushers in church.....( they didn't at the time and not sure they ever did) . How far things have gone, what a weird society we live in. I personally don't care but it is weird. The thing that is weird about it to me is how society seems to glorify and celebrate something that they should be studying and figuring out a way to fix it imo because it just is not "normal". When we have a goat or sheep that is not normal ( we had a goat once that was not clearly male or female) it goes to the auction....enough said

But, onto more on topic conversation. Woke up this morning to rain. Was really shocked as I had not heard anything about rain last night in the forecast. We are looking at a snow storm on Wednesday, they are saying 8 to 12" of the white stuff. I suppose I need to get the plow on the Mule before then. I bought the plow last winter and we didn't have more than an inch or two of snow at any one time, so no need to for the Mule and plow, in fact, I used the leaf blower to clear off the snow last year it as each snow was of the fluffy dry variety. Will be moving more firewood from the wood shed to the rack by the back door and inside. My kids will be super excited to help with that.

We ordered our garden seeds this weekend. True Leaf Market had the best variety of what we wanted, so we ordered from them again this year, having good luck with them last year. I was able to order some 2 year old asparagus crowns from Keene's Garlic. I started asparagus last year in a bed and they were doing pretty well, but then we had all of the hail storms followed by the heat and drought, which was too much for them. Hopefully we can transplant these crowns and they will survive.

Anyways, coffee is just about gone, so it's out into the shop we go. Have a great Monday everyone!

We let the pigeon go back to the barn yesteday and put a small chicken waterer in there for them so they don't need to fall in the buckets hopefully

I made lasagna and baked a rhubarb cake with frozen rhubarb. Never tried that and was worried it would be soggy but I drained enough water out of it so it worked great. All gone.
We need to go shopping, out of bananas and almost out of milk but I want to wait until my truck is fixed so we don't need to make 2 trips in town.
Son's classes start again tomorrow so maybe today we will play some board games while he still has time.

Weather this winter so far except that extreme cold for Christmas has actually been average for our area. This is the first year that it has been like this before it was always colder than average. I hope we don't get massive cold in February because our sheep will start having lambs.

I'm awake and just took my vitamins & allergy meds but I will probably try to go back to sleep since I don't have to go to my appointment until 4:15. I at least want to rest until I stop sneezing. Accidentally got body wash in my eye yesterday so my left eye is drippy and irritated. Shoulder/arm hate me, but otherwise I'm ok. Just tired.

GF called about midnight and said she landed in Vegas and was heading home. Arrived home at 3am, took a bit longer due to the weather. I have been awake since, can't fall back to sleep. I guess the coyote howling in the yard about 4:20am didn't help. I have to have a TV on to sleep and when I heard a dog howling just barely over the sound of the MASH program I paused the TV and confirmed my suspicions. Wearing only a pair of gym shorts and slip on rubber boots I grabbed a flashlight and the .357 and went outside. Surprisingly the 32-ish temps didn't feel that cold but the occasional clump of snow kicking up and into my boots got my attention. Obvious tracks in the yard from a single coyote but it was outside the fence of our bird enclosure and all birds are completely secured at night. I followed the tracks back up to the side road, it came in and left the same way. Definitely something to keep in mind and a reminder for the girls to make sure they close the gate to the secure chicken area at dark instead of at bedtime.
I am hoping I can get another few hours of sleep in a bit or I will be pretty tired for work tonight.

Rain finally arrived, but it has been pretty light, I'm hoping for more rain later today... we have rain in the forecast right through Tuesday night. Trash day, so the bin is already in the lane... otherwise, routine chores today, and hangin' out with the cats. Those dummies are under the home right now, I installed a cat door in the skirting so the cats could patrol the crawlspace and keep it free of rodents. Haven't seen a rodent in ages, they're hard-pressed to establish themselves here at the ol' hacienda, lol. Another reason to keep cats as pets...

I still have half a dozen unread library books on a shelf in my room, and there's always the TV... I'll probably make a good breakfast this morning, since I'm not in a rush to go anywhere. Ham & fried eggs atop cheese toast... I still have some of that Christmas ham left, go figure, but it's salty enough to keep in the fridge. Next time, I think I'll buy a smaller ham, lol... that one was nearly 12 lbs. and it has lasted quite a while. So lemme see... I went through 38 lbs. of turkey and 12 lbs. of ham this holiday season, lol. Damn, that's a lot of holiday dinner plates, but I feel good! So no worries...

Oh, yeah, my foot feels better too, it has been 15 days since the injury and the foot is well on its way to recovery... I reckon another 15 days will see it back to normal. I've been careful not to aggravate it in any way, and those hot baths with Epsom salts have really helped. I've been massaging the foot to improve circulation and expedite healing... I've also been eating 'Cream of Wheat' with milk to boost my iron & calcium levels, and eating other foods specifically chosen to aid in healing this foot injury. So that seems to be working... I'll stick to the regimen till the foot is healed. 😒

Already walked this morning.
Laundry almost completed.
Made a couple of phone calls.
Have 2 sweet potatoes baking in the oven- turned the heat off in the house.
The rest of the day will be divided between sitting outside with pups and watching shows with DH.
Might make more popcorn.

Today is a mixed bag, it's a Federal holiday (MLK), so:
No Official work, but I am hosting 3 days of meetings this week so I am preparing for that
The wife cooked yesterday, so I am doing lots of dishes (I wish she could learn to cook 1 pot meals, I hate washing dishes)
Christmas is over so we are taking down and boxing up everything, the son is visiting so I will just have to put up all the boxes when they are done.
I am hoping to catch up on some of my prepping stuff (organizing and such)
I might take a nap in the recliner if I'm lucky
Am planning on call it a night early tonight because my meetings this week are on Europe time...

I think this is an agenda that will be coming to all of us by the pedos. They are going to claim "they were born this way". Does that sound familiar? There have been little steps, one by one, step by step, to break down our beliefs, laws, and attitudes.

Kids and animals. They won't stop till child sacrifice is legal.

Abortion is legal. That is child sacrifice in my opinion. In some states, babies can be "aborted" after birth.
Brought my favorite cousin and her daughter shopping to Aldi and to Walmart, where we all filled baskets. Then to Chic Fil A, and brought home lunch for the husbands (and little granddaughter). No school today for her, but amish school had school. Husband and I working with the tech at Harvest Right to see why the freeze dryer isn't working properly. It's doing a three hour test right now, so we'll see. Still haven't been able to run the bananas and apples for the local lady who wants them for her son that has brain cancer. But her stuff is in the freezer, so it'll keep a while. Waiting on more word about little Brenda and her breathing problems. Mom said this morning that she was finally sleeping on 1/2 liter, and seemed alot better. Said she'd call this evening. If she's sick still tomorrow, we'll have to postpone the big rooster butchering day, but I might get started anyway if there's time tomorrow.

I joined an LCMS church a couple years ago. No, women are not allowed to be pastors or ushers. The Lutheran church in my hometown is not LCMS. I remember hearing about the split when I was a kid. It really meant nothing to me then, but a woman I went to h.s. with is now a Lutheran minister (ELS), and maybe retired.

The church I go to is a small congregation. We have anywhere from 20 to 40 people at Sunday service. A couple weeks ago, as pastor opened the service with announcements and asked if anyone else had any, I pointed out to him that there was not an usher in the building. He gets help from ushers mostly for communion, but also for taking offerings. He looked around and saw that this was true, not an usher in the building. Pastor handed out communion by himself, but typically, ushers release people from their pews to go forward to the altar. The sister of two men who are ushers, released us to go to the altar. I don't even remember who took the offering plates down the aisle.

This is a list of all the different Lutheran denominations.

Napped a bit & friend messaged me that he had to stay home bc his ex (who was supposed to have the daughter) went on a trip and there was no school so he had to be there to watch his daughter. Said he could work on my truck. Went it head in early but Mom wanted food. So I cooked for her. Then she wanted bottled water and I had to go get a case out of the truck. I'd repeatedly asked my brother to bring them in but he refused. Hurt my shoulder/arm carrying it.

I went to autozone to get a torque wrench and spark plug socket (magnetic). He replaced spark plugs and ignition coils. Only dropped one bolt but my magnet stick got it back quickly. Wanted to replace PCV valve but couldn't find where it goes as there was nothing where the diagram showed it should be.

Went to the doctor afterward for my appointment. He said the electrocution injury exacerbated an already tense/sore Deltoid. Good news is the nerve reactions are good and so is blood flow. Bad news is it will take months to heal and no more heavy lifting. My brother is going to have to step up & help out more.

Friend had a weird thing happen while demolishing the wall to his daughter's closet (he's making it smaller to give her more space in the room-- she doesn't need or want a big closet). He opened the wall and a rifle fell out. He called the cops to come get it and explained to them what happened. He has no idea who put it there, why someone put it there, or how it ended up inside the wall. His only guess was that maybe one of his ex's drug fiend/criminal boyfriends that she had coming over while he was at work must have put it there. Either that or previous tenants or something. His grandmother (who used to live there) was blind and there's no way she put it there. Cops said they were going to put it in storage. Probably won't even check to see if it was reported stolen.

Late-term abortions are plain murder... I'm all for outlawing abortions and having the gubmint push for more birth control or prevention, but that would make too much sense. 😒

Kinda late for me now, but in the past I always said that if I had a kid, I'd probably adopt one... Lord knows there are enough of 'em out there who actually need a home. 😕

After the public-fund-wastin' fake charge fiasco in Kalifornia, I probably wouldn't be allowed to adopt... for all I know, I'm listed as a fake felon, I never could get a straight answer outta those scumbags in Kalifornia. 😠

Meh, it doesn't bother me in the least, as my friends & family all know I was falsely charged. I proved that in the rigged courtrooms of that Douche-manis creep, lying "witnesses" and all, lol. Gave as good as I got too, the dirty swine... 😎

Anyway, I went shopping and stocked up on a bunch of stuff, now I'm having a well-deserved cold beer... no real plans tonight, I'll either watch a movie or read a library book. Tomorrow's another day, lol. 😉

We have a prediction of a BIG storm hitting, starting tomorrow, with the possibility of 12 inches of snow in about a day's time. The sidewalks at the dog park closest to me have never been cleared since they got snow which has turned to ice, at some time more than an inch thick. It was around 50 degrees this afternoon, which means that some of that iced up snow would be removeable. I took the dog who is boarding with me this week, and went there. Dog ran around inside, while I worked to clear a lot of sidewalk, making it safer for now and safer when it would get another layer of snow. Now my arm and shoulder are bothering me. I worked for quite a while, and when I sat down to take a break, someone volunteered to clear some. She did a great job! There was one patch which was partially shaded that neither of us could break the ice up.

Woke up to a severe frost, -7. I've damaged my back slightly so I was creeping across the slippy yard when I noticed one of the cats (Phoebe) growling at something in the distance. She took off, and went after the old cat (Bronn) who was sitting hunched watching Phoebe's 7-month-old kitten Inkytoes (IT). She must have thought Bronn was about to attack her and was protecting the kitten, but it turns out there was a robin trapped; I.T was playing with it, Bronn was waiting for a 2nd breakfast. So the poor thing ends up surrounded by three cats licking their lips. Rescued the robin, and apologised to the cats for ruining their fun. I kept him in for a few hours and then released him when he recovered enough to bash around the box. If only I could recover so quickly!
Tidied up the pantry, and started to work my way through the chest freezer, where I have bags of our own veg and fruit. Every year I begin by making one thing- at least- a week from one of my Pinterest boards. Today is blackcurrants, and I found this link All The Blackcurrant Recipes You Will Ever Need | Tin and Thyme
I'm also knitting this

and working on my portfolio. The sun is shining here- Enjoy your day!

So we have another goat with sores on her mouth and nose. Going to call the vet school today .
The meat processor finally called back yesterday and me bad....I didn't have my phone on me and was outside and when I called back the lady that does the scheduling was already gone and won't be back till Wednesday. My fault....
Today they are supposed to do my truck. We'll see
All these problems.....

It is raining outside

Weedygarden: I had no idea there were so many types of Lutheran churches, I thought there were only 2 ( LCMS and ELCA) . Ours was big and had a lot of people in it running the church that did not practice what they preached. Not going to say anymore on that , doesn't matter to me since I am now a pagan....

I am ready for spring.

Today, I will walk first.
Go to therapy and cancel appointments that are left. Just 2.
Walk dogs.
And nothing else! A normal person would be glad. I will find something else to do.
Now, I don't have to wonder what to do. A friend killed a deer and had hung and parted it for me. Dropping it off in a few minutes. Thank you God and friend!

I didn't know either. I had heard that there were something like 4 different ones, but a friend of mine who is newer than me at church used to attend a Lutheran Brethren Church. I had never heard of that!

Took a red eye from Vegas to Chitgago, and just got off the connection to Des Moines. Home for a few days now. My mom and my sister had birthdays this week, on the same day actually. I'm going home, stopping in at the grocery store, and then crashing for a couple hours before making the 70 mile drive to my brother's house for a family meal...

Finished putting the wire inside the chicken run. Crawled around on my knees for a couple hours. Already feelin it, i'll be hurtin tomorrow. …
I sat on the cold concrete garage floor installing mud flaps on the truck. Next morning my hips and leg muscles had me reconsidering my age based abilities.
