Yesterday was a busy day. Church, symphony, dinner, birthday celebration some days late.

I've been doing some deep cleaning. I love the spray Dawn bottles. Instead of scrubbing and scrubbing, I spray it on and focus on something else, come back in a bit and wipe whatever clean. Grease builds up on kitchen cabinets and this works so well on them.
Garden and yard work day. We are getting some light rains late in the evenings. I love that! No need to be watering, and great to happen when it doesn't have impact on life.

Got out in the beds this morning, fertilized the garlic, onions, and shallots. Then tried something new. Read some info about tomatos. If you cut the bottom leaves off the plants it both promotes better air flow and allows the plants to put all the energy into the fruiting. Got all my plants pruned up, mess cleaned up, and fertilized them with a home brew mix I found out about 3 years ago. I use it in the hole when planting, then again every 3 to 4 weeks till the plants stop producing. Gonna water the beds again since we didn't get any rain.
Gonna mow a while after that.
Tonight I'm gonna sit on the porch with a glass of Brandy and a good cigar in memory of my dad. KIA CuChi Vietnam, 4/1/1966.

Woke up feeling awful. Stuffy nose & sneezing. Back & hips hurting. Unable to get comfortable. I'm still exhausted. My coordination is off so I'm waiting until I'm not tipping over to measure and cut templates. Took some allergy meds and naproxyn for now. Got the massage pad on my back for now.

Washed the dog. Doing laundry in the warped washer. Trying to get as much done as I can. I Need to mow the backyard but the mosquitoes are bad already.
Bummed that there are no parades nearby, I have always liked going to Memorial Day parades.
Might throw some chicken on a grill since the burn ban is lifted.
Talked to one of the offspring, two maybe three or four are having to work. Others doing college stuff and whatever.
Tonight I’ll probably go out to mess around with the camera in the dark.

Yes, that Dawn Power wash is great.

what is the tomato fertilizer recipe?

I'm making pretty good time on the road. I left at quarter after 6 this morning, and I'm at Ogallala, Nebraska now. I'm just taking a bathroom break and stretching my legs a little. The older I get, the harder these long drives are on my body and my knees and back don't like it.

Happy Memorial Day, everybody.

Remember...

Away day yesterday- Visited my Dad and popped into a friend on the drive home, as we hadn't seen them in yonks. Planted a few turnips in the evening but the soil in that bed isn't great, realised I have no room for most of the seedlings, the other two beds aren't deep enough so will have to come up with a plan B. Heading off for a few days- on my own :dancing: one of my lecturers is having a book launch so I will stay with a relation and have a mooch around the city. Today is some chores and writing lists of what to water for the kids.

Today is a work day so I will not be doing much...got my shower, I did fix my breakfast, cleaned the kitchen, washed the pots and pans, sorted the laundry and now I have 15 minutes to get to work.... Usually by mid-afternoon I feel zonked, don't know why but I just do....

Have a great day!

We'll be going in to the bigger town this afternoon for husband's allergy shots. Also to bring in an old sewing machine I brought in from storage, for oiling and general checking out. It's a Simply Singer, and little granddaughter will be using it for a sewing class next week. I'm hoping she enjoys sewing, and I'll have to find a place to set it up for her permanently. Their first project will be a pillowcase.

Today is going to be a busy day. I have a lot of cleaning up to do around the house and I also need to do some laundry. It's not my favorite task but it needs to be done. I'll start by picking up any clutter and organizing everything. Then, I'll move on to cleaning the floors, dusting, and wiping down surfaces. Once the cleaning is done, I'll focus on washing my clothes. I have a big pile of laundry that needs to be washed, dried, and folded. It's going to take some time but I know I'll feel better once it's done.
