Division of Fire did a back burn last night, saved my place. Fire doubled in size but only on the other fronts. I'm probably okay now that its burned out on this side.
Going or staying is a tough one. 99.99% should leave. .1% might have what it takes to stay and survive. Forest fires are not for the weak minded.
About 4-5 years ago, a big fire was heading towards my sisters hunting lodge. Her and her adult son loaded up a big truck with large capacity trash pumps, chainsaws, masks etc and scuba gear, and drove the 3+ hours to the hunting lodge. They made all the guests leave immediately before the evacuation orders were even served. Only one way in or out.
The lodge and other buildings were on a lake so they had plenty of water, and fuel for generators was already there, buried underground.
They spent the days before the fire arrived soaking every thing. When the fire got there, they left the trash pumps rigged to flood the roofs and buried fuel tanks.
They donned the scuba gear and waited it out in the lake. The whole place survived and they have a very impressive picture album of being surrounded by fire.
This wasn't last minute planning. They took the risk on themselves and signed off on not being rescued.
I am assuming Aerindel has a plan.

It's still there. I hope its alive and didn't just die while stuck to the door. Beautiful critter. I know my uncle prefers butterflies, but I'll send him the pics bc I think he'll find it cool. He's always loved critters.
He's just showing you how big that salmon was he caught. If you ask him about it in a month, it will be about six inches longer!
He's a fisherman so he lies. We all do.
I've been trying to convince my wife for years that at bare minimum we need an 1841 mountain howitzer. I tried negotiating down from a Sherman, but she is a heck of negotiator.... there is no cannon in our yard.
My oldest is going into his senior year and it's time for senior photos. We called around to a few different folks who have done other's photos in the past. Let's just say that the prices we were quoted were just not in the cards for us (lowest price was $350 and the highest was $850). I've been a photography hobbyist since I was in high school, so my wife suggested I should attempt to take them. We took our first set last week, had to get them done before the end of this week to make it for some of the school banners and programs this fall. He was a trooper, it was blazing hot and Dad took him out into the middle of nowhere to get the landscape that we wanted. Here is my boy, photos by this novice:

From our front yard a couple days ago.
Unfortunately it jumped the creek on the other side. I am worse off now than I was. But still here
My way is probably illegal in this state.
