Run a second dedicated battery and a charge meter connected to both. when your charge hits 1/2 start your motor.

My family was always a sauce type, not a gravy type. I’d never heard of it being called gravy until I spent a few years in New England.

My day today involved making stock, roasted garlic, pickled daikon, and a pot of mixed beans so that I can make some bean soup later in the week. It’s theoretically supposed to snow tomorrow night, soup sounds good. Also PT and a ton of dishes.

Tomorrow’s gym time and the dentist and game night. Somewhere in there I need to at least clean the bathrooms, never mind the rest of the house, and squeeze all that roasted garlic so I can freeze it for use whenever.

Make a gallon of Kraut with peppers and onion in it, you'll forget all about kimchi!
 
Odd job today! Hubby and I are repairing a large concrete fountain in a lady's backyard! The water line from the pump cracked, so replacing it and cleaning out the water reservoir. Two person job lifting the concrete pieces! Then we are moving her plants into her garage from her back patio! Will be getting things ready for the rain and cold front tomorrow. 90° today, 50° tomorrow. Will work with the Aussie I'm training and her owners today too!
 
I have been needing to exercise more, but just haven't put it to practice... This morning I decided that I would walk to the closest grocery store and get some Bob Evans Original (BEO) sausage (Wife loves that stuff but almost no one carries it here). So I loaded up wearing boots and my back pack hiking off to the store at 05:40, I get there at 06:02 (they open at 06:00). The only sausage that they are out of is.... THE BEO! They had my soda on sale, so I put that in my pack and headed home...

Hey, I got some exercise... If I had walked a half mile further I could have had MickeyDs hash-browns... Something to think about for my next hike...

Oh, my old MP3 player's battery died half way there, it was on the charger right up to the time I walked out the door so I am assuming that it has passed it's prime....

I have a strange love for stacking firewood. I credit this to the thankless job I had working for the corporate "man" for 25 years.

In that "lifetime" everything you did was belittled or denied. Stacking firewood is like my revenge on the world? Nobody can deny it's existence. They can't belittle it's dimensions. It's concrete and tangible progress. I love it!

There's absolutely no badge of honor for the working man. But there is his wood pile.

Managers have messed up a LOT of corporations and companies by doing that. They screw things up to satisfy their ego and blame the results on others. It's the same thing politicians do.
 
Usual chores, then spent the day writing an essay on the parallels/intersections between migrant literature and folklore or what we know as fairytales. Was planning on washing my car- it looks like I've been in the Dakar rally, as I'm heading to my graduation on Friday. But we've had torrential hailstones so shelved that idea.
 
Got to work early and within 45 minutes one of my techs passed out. EMS came and transported him to the ER. Been sitting here waiting ever since.
What ever happened I'm glad it did early. He was scheduled to climb to the 50' level of a stack today
Been rethinking my pre job routine for stacks while sitting here. Will always ask how folks are feeling before any work starts going forward
 
Woke up feeling cruddy. Immediately started coughing. Cats came to check on me and it made the dog mad (everything makes him mad though). Don't know if its allergies or if I'm coming down with a virus, but got mild sinus headache and generally feel cruddy. I had to sing to the dog to get him to stop growling. Going to take allergy meds and vitamins and hope it helps. I've got a cat clinging to my arm and another one sitting on my chest. The one on my chest came up and licked my forehead. She tends to do that when I'm not feeling well.

I've modified the "Gumby Cat" song from the musical Cats and changed it to "Growlypants" and sing to the dog "I have a growly pants in mind, his name is Fippy Darkpaw. He likes to sit up on the bed & growl at almost everything. He growls and growls and growls and growls. And that's what makes a growly pants. That's what maaaaaaakes aaaaa grooooowlyyyyyy paaaaaants". He usually shuts up before I get to the last line.

Not sure if I'll get anything done today unless I start feeling better.

@Bacpacker I hope the tech will be OK.

Ben, you touched a (12-volt) nerve there. A couple of years ago I installed a "Fixd" module under the dash of the Lizard, my 2011 XTerra, to monitor all the bad things that could go wrong. I'd charge up the battery, and it'd drain within a week or so (I don't drive it much, given the higher cost of gas). It wasn't until I drove myself nuts truying to figure it out that someone told me -- guess what? -- a parasitic drain on the battery.



Live and learn.

Me either. I had a cajun friend (older lady) who called it that. I still say sauce.

Yesterday was a rough and long day in town. Lots to do. Glad it's over!

This morning, walked first.
Handyman here working on finishing window install, making 3 interior doors so they will actually latch and putting screens in a couple of bedroom windows.
DH's nurse and therapist should show up at some point.
Will walk dogs after.
Hope to make muffins and write a letter to Military friend later.

A friend of mine came back from deer hunting and saw none. None! In Colorado, where there are more deer than rats outside of Denver.

Instead he saw bighorn sheep — three times! — when the closest flock was supposed to be 12 miles away.

Very weird. Something’s up with the weather or last year’s hard winter or this year’s coming winter or something.
 
My brother actually emptied the kitchen trash and took it out. He didn't pick up the stuff that spilled though. I took trash out of the living room but need to take it outside. He brought in a water case and I brought in 2 cases. He went to the store with me for groceries. I was still feeling cruddy so he did most of the scanning and bagging & he loaded the cold stuff into the cooler. I put non-cold stuff in the back seat.

Got home and I pulled the meat off the bones of the rotisserie chicken. Set some aside for Mom to eat right away- she likes the thighs. Also set aside the wings for my brother because he likes them. Doggies got to eat the skin and the tougher meat. Watched the local news and am about to take a nap.

There were 4 cats on my bed when I came back. Aminatu was in my spot but she moved when she realized I was trying to get to that spot. She's now clinging to my arm. Fippy just came in and climbed up on the bed. Princess is already in the spot he usually claims, but at least he's not growling.

Don't feel as bad as I did earlier but am still tired.
 
Finished prepping 300 brass cases for my 9mm. Started to re-adjust my 9mm dies, as I plan to load much heavier bullets for it (165 grain). Tomorrow I will start loading some test rounds. I will start with CFE Pistol @ 3.0 grains and move up 3/10th (0.3) of a grains until I start to see pressure signs. Once I find my maximum safe load, I will reload several hundred rounds. Next week I will do a range visit and test out my reloads and the new shotgun.
 
Today I unboxed the generator and was met with a surprise aside from the amount of " some assembly required".

A mouse had built a nest! I did a thorough inspection and it appears the critter was happy chewing on the cardboard and didn't damage any of the wires and hoses. I will dig further after I get the wheels and handles installed.

So I was off to Tractor Supply for oil and a battery. It uses different weight oil for use above and below 32 degrees F. While there I noticed they had a Dewalt 20v angle grinder on sale. I have had that grinder in an Amazon wishlist for months. Needless to say a grinder came home with me.

Tomorrow I will be doing tutor time again.

Well everything turned out ok. ER Dr's checked him out and did all kinds of tests. Didn't find anything out of kilter. Not sure what happened, but he was doing good when his wife took him home. Gotta run his truck to him tomorrow
