I don't know if I am getting a cold or just clogged up sinuses and coughing from clearing out some old hay and crap out of one barn area to get it ready for the lambs yesterday. I did have a face mask on but a crappy one , need to buy some better ones again

today animal chores and starting seeds. We got it all set up yesterday I just need to put the seeds in.

I will also make some more frozen pizzas. Tried this a few weeks ago, made small pizzas for son to eat when he gets home from classes late or is extra hungry ( he is not overweight but a big guy) . I got tired of buying expensive and junk frozen pizza from the store, so I made some myself and it works. You make the dough, then bake it on really high heat without anything on it for just a few minutes to solidify it and take it out, cool it, add toppings and wrap in plastic to freeze. It worked well, I tried a little piece when he baked on. And much better than store pizza at $6 for one I can make for probably $3

that's too much thinking too early in the morning !!
i learned my lesson last time. a keg of coffee couldn't prepare me enough to tackle it....lol

Oh and got Jake enrolled in flight school today!
you cant follow in his foot steps this time..last one you lost a finger only..hate to think on this one !!

be satisfied with dozer, rock trucks, crusher and dynamite !!

I am a novice but dealing with the wounds as if they are grafts may be worth considering. Plastic shopping bags cut into strips and wrap the would to keep water and bugs out. Grafting tape would be ideal.

See Skilkults grafting playlist here.

Ben

Thank you! Great idea! I have plenty of those plastic shopping bags that I am going to donate to a local church that collects them for recycling into benches.

One of the guys who is a regular at the dog park and who has been as interested as me in this problem is an engineer. I don't know why, but I trust engineers, even if this is a botany problem. After we worked on the two trees, and then were out of the different materials I had ordered to try, we went to HD. He is an older, slow, methodical kind of guy and after 20 minutes at HD. while he took his time reading and thinking, I had to leave. I had appointments and my back does not handle standing in one spot for long periods of time. He stayed and a couple days later told me he thought the woven ground cover might work. My concern is that it is a little porous and synthetic. Could it work? Yes. Or is it possible that it would allow moisture to escape and insects to get in? Yes! I am going to send him this video to watch.
I have some weed block fabric so we wouldn't need to purchase any. We are just waiting on the green salve that we decided would be best to use to arrive in the mail. I ordered one as a sampler of things we could try, and I have ordered more for the other trees. Last one took more than two weeks to get here, so we will be waiting for a couple more weeks.

I cut back half of my elderberries to about 18 high. I had to stop because I am tutor duty for the youngest granddaughter. The paper she produced was not what I expected. She is working on reducing fractions and converting to and from decimal. I expected to see 20 samples to practice on. Nope!

Seems the author wanted to teach English but was stuck writing math papers. I will try to duplicate one of the questions...

"
Bill and Joe were analyzing two other classes at Jefferson grade school in Clinton Missouri and found the following facts.

Mr Smith's class reported that 2/3 of the class were the youngest child.

Ms Jones class reported 3/5 had pets.

They also found that 6/12 of Mr Smith class wore sneakers and 0.2 of Ms Jones class wore sneakers. Bill said there more kids in Mr Smith's class because 6/12 is larger that 0. 2.

Q
Is Bill right or wrong? Explain your reasoning.

"
That is a lot of hay to dig through to find a golden of understanding fractions. Paid by the word no doubt.

More elderberry tomorrow and getting some apple scions collected.

Ben
I have no doubt in your knowledge and ability to teach her.

This company makes the best books for teaching many math concepts, IMHO. This is just the first booklet, there are 4 in total. There is also a series for decimal fractions as well as other math concepts. I think it is possible to find some, if not all of these as PDFs online, but I could be wrong. I do know that some of them are available in PDF format.

A retired friend called me & said he want to walk to lose weight & would give him encouragement by waling with him. We went to river walk & I am sore from all the walking. His apple watch said he meet his goal, then beat his longest walk. He wants to go for a walk tomorrow, but not sure I will feel lie walking all over the Zoo. As sore as I am, it is good to get out & walk.
Walking is really good exercise especially for senior citizens.

Please keep us posted, I am really curious how this goes!!

Coffee, getting sidetracked on youtube, also wondering why people think it is ok to put words in math equations,

Coffee this morning, and my girlfriend is taking me down to Des Moines to get my truck from the body shop after she gets off work at 4. Tomorrow we will run my dad's truck that I have been borrowing, back to him at the farm. It will be her first time visiting there. We will take her dog and let the town dog run free off the leash for a while out on the farm...

I NEED to clean my floors today. But I’m so hooked (pun intended) on crocheting baby items.

Will do. The trees were damage a few months ago and people have been trying to get that city to try to work on the trees. What did they do? They put two steel posts fairly close to the trees and wrapped fencing around it. They did nothing to address the wounded trees. We were waiting to see what they would do. One of the guys is really angry about it. People get hired for jobs that they have no idea what they are doing.

When a dog park friend of ours died, we asked the city what could be done for a memorial for him. 1. Plant a tree in his memory 2. Put up awning 3. a memorial bench. ?

Well, the city has decided that they are no longer planting trees in dog parks, so when whatever is there dies, it will be a wasteland.

Awning was too expensive and not important to the city.

I kept looking for a nice used bench and finally found one for $50. Friends contributed for paint and then painted the bench. I had someone make plaques that were set into the wood with plexiglass covers. We chained it to a tree with a padlock and a few of us have keys to the padlock. This tree has been treated, wrapped. It was the first one. The bench gets lots of use.

Only the green layer of a tree is alive. Part of grafting is a mechanical to secure the graft in place. The critical aspect of grafting is getting the green layer of the scion in contact with the green layer of the tree.

In your case you want to facilitate the green layer healing. Wrapping the would could allow the healing. Tree wound paste should not be applied to the wound. It could be used over the tight plastic wrap. Saran wrap should also work to cover the wound.

If the tree is healthy it will push out branches below the wound. Let them develop to support the tree while the wound heals.

Speaking of trees, I'm attempting to take apart most of a huge tree that came down in my garden area. Kind of where I'm standing in my avatar photo. Put in an hr and a half out there, and did make a dent, but now it's time to put my feet up and have some iced tea. We had beautiful weather today. Sawsall battery is charging. It went dead quick, so I used lopers for alot of stuff before the chain saw comes out.

Dad was supposed to have some gum work done near one of his implant posts for his dentures. The don’t need to do anything about the one that broke—oral surgeon had put an extra one from the get go. Well we were there for an hour waiting on the doc to finish a difficult procedure before starting on Dad. Took one look at his updated chart and decided not to do the procedure. Dad’s cardiologist just started him on Eliquis. They’re going to talk to his doctor and reschedule.

Pulling a little hair out.
After 10 years I finally had one of my CC numbers get leaked.
I use 2, one is for everything local, the other one for everything 'away'.
Chase texted me that they had declined a charge of $164.91 from Mcafee.com/autorenewal on the 'away' card.
They asked me to reply 'yes or no' if it was me.
If no, they will close the account and send me a new card.
God bless the robots!:huggs:
It knew 2 things:
1. That total is never the amount for a McAfee renewal.
2. My McAfee renewed last August and won't be due until this August.
Case closed.
I will have to change the CC number in 5 places online though.
Edit: I went online to check if there was any other fraudulent charges made, and in less than 2 minutes after text replying "no", my account had a new number.
No other fake charges had been made either.:)

K is back from Texas and now we are just waiting for an offer. K is happy with the company and excited to get an offer and start. We could be moving within a month of getting an offer!

backlash, I hope the trip to Spokane goes well. My dad and brother lived there for about a year. Dad had to do one more year of service before mandatory retirement back stateside in order for them to pay for our trip back from overseas and that was the location they gave him back in the mainland US. I've heard it referred to as Spokompton. I was only there a few weeks.

My brain is not retaining much else. The good news is, my immune system is working. The bad news is, I have a sinus infection AND an ear infection. Pharmacy didn't have time to fill the RX today so I'll have to get it tomorrow. They've been swamped with people being sick. I had a low grade fever when the nurse checked my temperature but it broke by the time I left because I was sweating like crazy.

I had trouble sleeping. Couldn't seem to get comfortable. Mom paged me about something and I had to go get her something and I told her I was going to take a shower around 1. Guess what time she apparently started paging me. LOL. She even called my brother to look for me since I wasn't answering and he told her I was in the bathroom. I came out of the bathroom after my shower to ear the intercom ringing but it stopped before I got to the phone. I paged her back and she said she was hungry so I got her some food and went to lie down for a bit before going to the post office and then to the doctor. Had to go to Walmart afterward. I meant to get some feed for the cows but I drove past the turn-in and wasn't feeling well so I came home and unloaded groceries.

Got curbside pickup at samsclub tomorrow.

Another upside is a lot of stuff I ordered from Amazon came in. The belt I ordered for myself (for the wedding) fit. The one I got for Mom fit her-- it actually fit over my brother's belly. The elastic straps I got to help the shoes stay on barely fit, but they fit nonetheless. My brother's tie came in as well. Got a couple more things I'm waiting on now.

Woke up a bit early and fired up the computer to prepare for a call with a new supplier to discuss what they can offer me and how I can navigate their website. I plan to use them for business cards and custom note books and maybe custom calendars. It was a good, productive phone call and he will be at the trade show in Fort Worth next month so I can have a chance to talk in person and put hands on more products that may be useful for some of my existing and potential customers.
Easy day at work today. Simple stuff on a piece of junk side by side and them worked on the bosses new to him old square body Chevy. The transfer case wasn't shifting. It has been years since either of us has worked on anything transfer case related so after toying with it off and on for 3 hours we realized the front drive shaft was too long and putting pressure on the front output shaft preventing the levers from moving for the front output shaft. Once the light came on and I realized that was the problem I pulled the front driveshaft and we confirmed it shifted OK ....if there wasn't pressure against it. Big sigh of relief, we didn't want to remove and rebuild the transfer case.
After work we hung out in the shop drinking beers and talking about what new aftermarket parts were needing to make the inside look as good as the outside. It was funny how slow the process was to remember all the stuff we knew 25+ years ago. It is slowly coming back to me, makes me feel good about my memory, especially when I remember the stuff faster than my young, 40 year old boss.
Totaled up my time card (hand written numbers in a small notebook) and laughed when I only had 27 hours for the week. Monday through Wednesday were all early outs and yesterday was kind of a snow day, it snowed about 4" and the boss didn't want to work, or be in the neighborhood, so he told me not to come in and he drove south the the big (small) city to take care of stuff in town. I stayed home and did some computer work for my business then went to town for a few errands.
Tonight? Might try to organize my work area a bit, do some more computer work, and probably early to bed.
It was a good, productive, and restful week. And, despite my chiropractor appointment Tuesday evening my back and hips hardly bothered me (so far) this week so maybe progress is finally getting less painful.
Have a great night. Catch all ya'all tomorrow.

Hubby is in the kitchen making smoked hot sauce. I am in the living room coughing- had him open a window in there. That stuff is toxic! I don’t know how he can put it in his mouth 😲. Haha. As I type this, he’s in there sneezing, getting it bottled up.

I was just wondering about this today, how to make up pizzas for the freezer. Thank you!

Daughter asked about going out to eat recently and I told her that I am doing my best to stay home and out of all the places where there are sick people. The various cruds that are going around are kicking butts everywhere! Normally, I am more than happy to have dinner with her.
