Life is want it is ... I do not do preparations. (no longer)
We have food, herbs and knowledge and hope for the best. I have been a pepper for more years than I care to remember.
I have been wanting for the ball to drop for years...
What ever will be ... will be ...
Man, do I sound like a downer. lol
seek, learn and store.
Life is for living, not hiding and waiting for something bad to happen.
I had a sudden, large influx of all kinds of stuff.
I only mentioned it in the Mod forum at PS to let them know I would be a scarce for a little while, but I guess I'll go public.
AuntJoe's mom died 2 weeks ago. She was a pretty major hoarder. As we began the process of cleaning out the house I was astonished at the amount of stuff she had crammed in there. Here is a small sampling of a "Preparations Update."
Four 2' square totes of med supplies; several sizes of gauze pads, bandages of every type, Ace bandages, 8-10 bottles each of alcohol and hydrogen peroxide, several boxes of cotton swabs, bars of hard soap (70-80 at this point) and bottles of soft soap (12-15). But it's still being organized so who knows what the final count will be. Almost a full tote of OTC meds.
Tooth brushes. Over 100. She bought them in 10 packs; and just kept buying.
Small LED flashlights. I believe we're up near 40 of those.
Batteries. Ohhhhhh the batteries. AA , AAA and D. There are hundreds of them and they keep popping up as we go from room to room. I won't be too surprised if it ends up in the thousands.
Nail clippers. 30-40 pair and we're still finding them in oddball places. Lots of tweezers too.
Scissors. I think there's somewhere around 30 pair.
Office type supplies; pens, pencils, markers, highlighter's, paper clips, staples and staple guns. Office Max should be scared.
Boxes of tissues and packages of TP. Again, don't know how much it will be in the end
Zip-Loc storage and freezer bags in all sizes from snack to 2 gallon; along with plastic wrap, wax paper, parchment paper and aluminium foil. Let's just say, We will never have to buy any of these items ever again.
Canned food by the case.
OK. I think I'll stop for now. I'm getting dizzy again thinking about the monumental task that we've just begun to attack.
Sounds like a prepper to me
Picked up some CR123A batteries on sale (for flashlights and other items), double checked my winter preps, tested some older food stores and plan to go hit a couple fleet & farm clearance bins today. Might even go to the the drug store to see if they have any Ibuprofen or other meds in their clearance bins. Don't have as much non-prescription stores as I would like. I hate paying full price for preps.
