Saw another 1 but missed it but this 1 will do just fine. Even though the season's in a few more days,I'm done for the year,still have rabbits,fox & coyote to go after.

What does squirrel taste like? Chicken?
Squirrel, fried with milk gravy. Squirrel makes the best milk gravy!

Sorry, didn't exactly answer your question. It's a little gamey and tends to be a little tougher than chicken. I use my cast iron skillet and pan fry it like chicken, then make milk gravy with the leftover oil and bits in the pan.
I have never eaten squirrel.
Not high on the list of things to do either.
We have a few squirrels that run around here.
So far they have caused no problems so I just leave them alone.
Sage rats are another matter entirely.
I have a friend that has access to a large farm with a big sage rat problem.
I hope to help eliminate a 100 or more soon.
I watched Duck Dynasty once and Miss Kay made squirrel and dumplings.
Her favorite part was the squirrel brains.
Just suck them out of the skull.

Squirrel is okay, but all we have here are little red squirrels. You can eat them and I have but there is so little meat they aren’t worth the bother. In a survival situation absolutely but otherwise no.

We have mostly the grey bushytails here and a few big fox..The greys will chew a hole in your house in an instant so you have to remind them of their manners and swat one every once and a while.
The grey's are also mean and will run off the slightly bigger fox squirrels.
He probably could have,the way he was sitting in the fork giving me the evil eye it was like he was coming up with an attack plan
One of my favorite ways is to cook-em in a pressure cooker and make dumplings out of them or gravy with biscuits.
