I first learned of this a few days ago. I have been reading up on it from several sources and it seems ideal for my back yard since it can handle both heat and freezing temps, can handle the sandy soil in this area, once established it is drought tolerant, only needs water once a week, and walking on it wont hurt it and it is soft on the feet. What I am seeing for the down side is it may take a 6 months to a year to fill the area and it is rather pricey.
I looked at several sellers and so far this is the only place that will ship it to my area, the others I looked at first would only ship to either some parts of California or only to California, Nevada, and Arizona. A tray comes with enough plugs to do "Planting Guide - -6" apart = 16 sf / flat -8" apart = 28 sf / flat -12" apart = 65 sf / flat", but it doesn't say how many plugs and it is $38 a tray, plus shipping. I know I could guess at the math or contact them, but I am curious if anyone is familiar with stuff and hopefully with first hand knowledge.
