three trades which need badly young people...ok it's not always so nice, but when you do something with your hands and see the finnished product, it feels so good

if I would live rural I would have a forge...blacksmithing was fun to do when in school..and I would get me a shoemakers set..all the handtools of that trade..

I also live in an apartment. I am definitely glad this forum exists. There has been some very good posts especially from Maverick. I learned a lot and not just about him.

Updates: since last post I've slowly begun my prepping. Still have ways to go. But progress will be made. Getting together basic disaster pack sinse I'm in blizzard country now, so the basic essentials. Upgrading my bob with effective And useful tools to help me where ever. Got together with my local gun enthusiasts and have begun the steps to make myself a great shot. How's everyone?

Prepping is always slow and never done ;) even o'l goats like me still learning and evolving even after 30yrs doing this. Idaho a good place lots of good people there!

slow, but steady progress, still thinking wheter to get skies or snow shoes or to get them both...

Yes, I have slowly started getting supplies as well. I recently got my first firearm! I am very excited about it.

I plan to practice a lot. I am going to swing by big 5, grab some clays and hopefully hit the rage this weekend. Also I don't leave the house without a blade on me ;)

and it's kinda relaxing aswell, every time I come from the gunrange I'm relaxed...
last evening I did some improvements on my door fortification, even harder to get through it now

It's a nice release for sure. Anything that is just physical and gets adrenaline going is so stress relieving. Shooting a gun is one of the most effective things that is for sure. Also do you live in an Apt? If so what fortifications does your landlord allow?

yup, it's an apt, well I have security lock, chain, that's what the landlord knows about, that a deadbolt, plus two other things that secures the door to the frame, as long as I take the last things away if I move out, it's okay, then I can secure my inner door with two latches.
it's not like a safe, but will give me pleanty of time to evac my butt out of harms way if needed

I haven't been able to acquire any firearms yet. Its a work in progress.

Today I acquired a storage unit! I live on the ground floor of my apartment complex and the storage units are just one floor below me so its super easy to access. Well its only easy if you have a key to the room with the storage units and once in the room of course there are additional locks. The space is about 6x10 feet. It is actually a really good amount of storage. I live in a studio apartment so acquiring this much extra storage is incredible. Now I will be able to store much useful things in my actual apartment.

I'd make sure to put it in old boxes or something to make it look like ordinary misc stuff . Prying eyes are always a bad thing , even the other few that share access .

yup, make it look like "old dirty stuff" and the interest for your stuff goes way down on the list ;)

and maybe label each box in a way, where only you know whats in them.and others wont figure out whats in them at same time

Yeah, I will put it in some old boxes that don't look appealing for sure! I will also label the boxes with basic numbers then make a list of whats in each box. That will keep things safe. I'm just excited because now i will have room to finally store a bike in my studio apartment. I want to also get a motor kit for my bicycle.

Still working out bugs and kinks. But acquiring sharp weapons
