I've never made okra (but squash yes) or jello salad because they are both gross. I've not made grits but have made polenta which is similar but with corn rather than hominy. Yep to everything else. Not sure what #25 is asking - like largest table of guests served? Holidays 12-18???

Everything but grits and greens unless you count spinach, nettles and dandelions as such. I was cooking the stuff on that list by the time I was ten.

Cooked for over five hundred with my classmates. I was in culinary school and we cooked for the police and firemen games. Kind of cheating since we had a huge kitchen with all the stoves, mixers and gigantic steam vats you could possibly dream of.

On my own, in my home kitchen, maybe 60 ish.

I don't make desserts or bake, only got serious about cooking a few years ago. Still got a yes for 29/40, I cook a wide range of foods. A few of them quite well. Baking is the next thing on my list, made pancakes from scratch today.

Yes to most of those. Some stuff we just don't eat (like jello salad). We cook every day and buy virtually no prepared food anymore.

Great list, Weedy, and a lot of fun. If this was a test I failed miserably. I really don't cook as much as I heat. Much like Spikedriver, most of what I heat comes in a can or a box. I would take exception or need clarification on a couple of items. If I make mashed potatoes from scratch do I have to grow the potatoes? I've never grown them, but I have peeled, boiled, and mashed by hand my fair share. Does it count as living with a dishwasher if the dishwasher was me?

I don't eat okra but made everything else on that list. I pretty much make everything from scratch except on days we are really busy. We almost never go out to eat either. My family likes my food better. Cooking is one of my sort of hobbies. I bake bread and sell it at the farmers market and I can cook many dishes from other countries, especially Asian food, since I like it. How many of you on here cook Indian, Thai, Korean, Chinese or Japanese food?

My kids can cook also, but husband no. He can fry an egg that's about it

I soaked dried black beans last night to make cuban black bean soup today, with ham. I have even smoked my own ham when we had pigs a few years ago but that didn't turn out great. It was way too fat and too salty so that experiment failed. I did make a lot of good bacon however

I've cooked everything on the list - back in college, my roommate and I took a foods course because we thought it'd have a favorable guy/girl ratio and because we'd get free lunch 3x a week :) I ended up really enjoying it and went on to take two more. Later in life when I learned I had gluten & dairy intolerances, it was a huge financial incentive to cook all our own foods - the cost of pre-packaged gluten-free food is ridiculous!

I think the most I've cooked for is around 75 - for many years I was in charge of our churches annual fathers and sons campout and the associated meals. It was always fun coming up with the meals, and I always had plenty of help :)

40. Lived in a house without a dishwasher? I've been the dishwasher ever since I could scoot a chair up to the sink.......even when I've had the machine,

I can think of atleast 2 more questions that weren't included.......

41. Do you can or preserve any of your food? Yes

42.) Do you use a recipe or make up your own? Yes to both. Most of the time I use a printed recipe as a guide, but rarely follow it to the letter. And other times, I just wing it to see what happens.

Speaking of recipes.......another would be to try to copy or replicate a known recipe by guess & by golly.....and yes I've done this too.

I was the head dishwasher from age 6 on for 7 of us. It was a joke that we didn't need a dishwasher because they had me. Of course there were 6 people laughing about it when it actually should have been a job that was rotated. Everyone else had arms and hands that worked, and they all sat at the table and ate.
